Sadly this mod hasnt improved since three months ago, or even more. Performance is still clunky in some places, even in some plain roads for no reason (probably because hundreds of level water errors in the end make random fps drops), there are many many floating things all over the map, grass on the roads, weird traffic behaviours and invisible walls, and so on. The author keeps doing other things like sierra nevada and expanding to chihuahua without even bother to improve and fix mexico extremo. Really sad. This is never going to be a great mod because it keeps getting old without real fixes.

Well, in the description it says various bugs fixed, i guess that the author doesnt consider hundreds of water level errors that are causing fps drops "important". But i agree, i had to avoid this mod in the past because of performance issues, things have improved a bit, but still, its not really worthy to drive through this map. You are driving smoothly enjoying the trip, and suddenly fps drops just in a bridge without reason, and after that, a bunch of grass in the middle of the road, after that an invisible wall turning right, after that.. in the end, the immersion is completely broken and its not worthy anymore. Its a shame, this could be a great map mod, but with all these issues it is just, a mod.
