In 1958, Autobello made a diesel prototype, which got a lot of attention, this lead to them entering the diesel into production in 1964.
Featuring Aero Fenders, hubcaps and decklid, this diesel powered piccolina was one hell of an economical one, it however, was really, really slow.
Lore
From 1964-1968, they offered the 1300cc and 1500cc models, with all the luxuries present in their gasoline counterparts.
From 1968-1974/76 they offered the same lineup, however, the 1300cc became a cut down cheaper entry level vehicle, which coincidentally lined up with the Oil Crisis.
After 1976, the piccolina had ran its course and stopped being produced, since the New and improved Aria had already been in sale since 1972.
However, in third world countries, they made another refresh, from 1974-1984 they offered an even more cut down 1300cc variant, which didnt even come with a heater!
this was a pretty popular choice for a lot of people which needed a vehicle but couldnt afford much.
the 1500cc model got entirely replaced by the 1700cc model, also sold until 84' this model kept all the luxuries the 1500cc had. The most impactful model tho, was the 1700cc Turbo Diesel, being sold until 2003! This vehicle was the exact same as the non turbo variant, but had enough power to keep up with the times and go into the new milenium, due to the popularity of this vehicle, you can still see some of them today.
Features
- Fully custom modeled and textured engine, excluding the engine block
- Aero "Kit" & Diesel badges
- Slowness, and lots of it
- Nice shitbox
