This mod is a fix for the front suspension jbeam of the new DB9 mod that has come out.
This is NOT the full mod, only a rewritten front suspension jbeam for the car.
If you are like me and have just bought the new DB9, but are incredibly dissapointed that the car does not drive properly, then this is the fix for you.
Currently, the DB9 has awful handling and force feedback. Every time you turn the wheel more than 45', the force feedback grabs your wheel and pulls the car to full lock, forcing a spin. It is completely undriveable at the minute and should not be aid for in its current state.
I have spent the evening playing with the front suspension jbeam file and editing the suspension geometary, positioning and fixing missing portions of the suspension jbeam. The jbeam file I have submitted is my final version of the edited front suspension. I have edited it so that you have incredibly detailed force feedback and can feel the grip and drift through the wheel. The car now handles true to life and will self center properly.
All you need to do to fix your DB9 (if you've bought it), is download my zipped db9_suspension_f file -> Unzip it -> take the new jbeam and replace the db9_suspension_f jbeam of the DB9 (unzip the DB9, replace the suspension F jbeam file in jbeam folder, rezip the file).
After this, you will have a beutifully handling car that you can drift without even thinking about. Surfaces and bumps now feel detailed and you can feel the car beginning to slide/understeering through the steering wheel. This car is now a true simulation and, to me, now feels like one of the best cars to drive in the game.
I have written to the author of the DB9 mod, notifying him of me posting the fixed file and offering my file to be included in his mod to fix it for other paying users.
Any feedback welcome, any other requests or fixes you want feel free to write to me.
Enjoy!
