Mercedes-Benz W210 Revived Project (BeamNG.drive)

Overview

This mod is a revival project of the Mercedes-Benz W210 for BeamNG.drive.
The base 3D model was taken from an unknown original source — unfortunately, I was unable to identify the original author. Instead of leaving the vehicle in its previous unfinished state, I decided to rework, fix and improve what was already there, focusing mainly on realism and drivability.

This is my second mod overall, but my first project with such a large number of changes and improvements. The base model was in very poor condition, and the goal of this project was simply to bring the W210 back to life, as currently there is no better-quality W210 available for BeamNG (at least none that I could find).

Interior Improvements

A lot of effort was put into improving the interior, which originally looked very strange and unrealistic.

• Interior color changed from unnatural white to cream beige

• One of the wood trim textures was replaced with a more realistic one

• Overall interior visuals were adjusted to feel closer to a real W210

Known Issues

• The instrument cluster backlight is still not working correctly

• The gauges are visible but not illuminated and not as clear as intended
  (This will be improved in future updates)

Engine & Drivetrain Rework

The original engines were replaced with more realistic and better-balanced powertrains.
Some of these engines did not originally appear in the W210, but they were chosen to improve realism, variety and driving experience.

Diesel Focus – 3.2 CDI

Special attention was given to the 3.2 CDI diesel:

• More realistic torque delivery

• Improved turbo behavior

• Better overall drivability

There is still ongoing work on proper diesel exhaust smoke coming from the tailpipe, which is not yet fully solved.

Tuning Options

Several tuning options are available, especially for the diesel variant:

• Hybrid turbocharger for the 3.2 CDI

• BIG Turbo for OM606

• ECU chiptuning for increased power and torque

• Configs are intentionally simple and minimal, allowing players to create their own setups easily

Best experience is achieved by building your own configuration.

Sound Design

One of the highlights of this mod:

• Mercedes E55 AMG sound has been added

• OM606 engine added

• Deep, aggressive and extremely satisfying

• Once you drive it, you will probably fall in love with it instantly

• Transmissions swaps 7g-tronic and 8HP

This sound alone completely changes the driving experience of the car.

Current State & Future Plans

This mod is still a work in progress.

Planned improvements:

• Proper illuminated and clearer instrument cluster

• Correct diesel exhaust smoke emitted from the exhaust tip

• Additional configs and fine-tuning

Final Notes

This project is not about perfection — it is about saving and improving a forgotten mod.
Starting from a very weak base model, the goal was to make the W210 enjoyable, realistic and fun to drive again.

If a higher-quality W210 model ever appears, this project may become obsolete — but until then, this is my personal attempt to give this car the attention it deserves.
