Gavril Ugo "350-R" Custom Golfcart
What happens when a forgotten early-90s prototype utility cart meets a shop with a bored mechanic with a donor sport-quad engine? You get the Gavril Ugo 350-R.
Originally built by Gavril as an experimental compact utility platform (internally designated the Marathon project), the project explored whether a lightweight multi-purpose vehicle could serve factories, airports, industrial sites, and recreational markets. It was designed to be a sensible, slow, and dependable workhorse, but budget cuts ended development before production. Decades later, a one-off chassis was rescued and reborn in a private tuning garage.
By tossing out the heavy lead-acid batteries and sluggish electric motor and replacing them with a rugged, air-cooled powerhouse from a wrecked sport quad, the vehicle was transformed. While it retains the boxy, nostalgic aesthetic of the original Ugo body, it features a custom-fabricated front frame, rear swingarm cradle, custom seat, fuel tank, and digital tach.
Features
- Engine Swap: Torquey 350cc single-cylinder sport-quad engine with a manual 6-speed sequential transmission
- Aggressive Performance: Low-to-mid range grunt capable of breaking rear tires loose instantly, fitted with Protrax tires
- Custom Fabrication: Custom-built rear swingarm, upgraded chain drive, and digital tachometer
- Diverse Configurations: Includes the "Ugo trx350r" starter project, the "Ugo-350_R" finished roadster, and the "Ugo Ev 36v electric"
- Extra Parts: Turbo kits for the quad engine and 72v/96v upgraded electric motors
