Description
Belasco's unfinished elevated railway, completed as the MRT Brown Line. This pack completes West Coast USA's unused elevated railway as a rubber-tyred AGT line (automated guideway transit).
When the level loads, it swaps the elevated viaduct and the suspension bridge segments for copies without their old rails, and lays a double-track, side-guided guideway along them, across the bridge and onto the island. The map files are not changed on disk.
Features
- Three stations: Downtown BR01, Canal St. BR02 and Island BR03, with platforms and stop marks
- Side guidance: a wall on each side of every track, with a steel guide bar on its inner face and two power rails above it
- A crossover near each end of the line (visual only)
- Line traffic: with the game's traffic switched on, one train runs on each track at a steady speed and turns back at the ends
- Built for the Cherrier Anemoi APM 101, but open to other vehicles
Information for vehicle and script makers
Internally the line is called wcusa_agt.
Adding a vehicle
A vehicle opts in to the line with one small JSON file in its own mod:
Code: /lines/wcusa_agt/vehicles/<your_model>.json
Code:
{
"model": "your_model",
"refZ": 0.72,
"halfLength": 20.67,
"straight": 0.004,
"traffic": {
"speed": 9.72,
"config": "default",
"cmd": "controller.getControllerSafe('your_controller').setTarget(%s)",
"model": "your_model_lite"
}
}
- model: the jbeam model name. When this vehicle is spawned or reset near the line, it is put on the nearest track, facing that track's direction of traffic.
- refZ: height of the vehicle's ref node over the running surface (m)
- halfLength: half the vehicle's length (m); used for spacing and to keep it clear of the buffers
- straight (optional): for long guided vehicles placed as one rigid body. The vehicle is moved to the nearest stretch where the line stays within this distance (m) of a straight chord over its whole length.
- traffic (optional): lets the vehicle run as line traffic. speed in m/s, cmd is vehicle Lua that sets the target speed (%s is replaced by it), config is the .pc to spawn. model is an optional simplified stand-in for the traffic trains, which needs its own JSON file as well.
Guideway dimensions (lateral from the track centre, heights over the running surface, in metres)
- Running surfaces: centres 1.88 apart, 0.56 wide
- Guide bars: face at ±1.26, 0.04 thick, from 0.06 to 0.24; guide wheels bear outwards on both bars
- Power rails (750 V DC, visual): contact face at ±1.22, negative 0.34–0.41, positive 0.48–0.55
- Clearance: ±1.42 wide up to 3.8 m, but only 3.64 m in the island tunnel
- Max grade 8 %, cross slope up to 0.10 over the gauge
Line data for scripts (driver modes, timetables): /art/shapes/wcusa_agt/wcusa_agt.json
- tracks.A / tracks.B: points as [s, x, y, heading, roll, z, pitch], stops (stop-mark positions along each track, s in m) and buffers
- running: {"A": 1, "B": -1}, the direction of traffic on each track
- The GE extension wcusaAgtLine provides putVehicle(vehicleId, track, s) to place a registered vehicle with its centre at s
