– Rally stage with a length of 26 km through the rural area of Wales.

About the stage: This stage is based on the real section of the Rally Nuts Severn Stages 2024 event, held in the forests east of Aberystwyth, Wales. This particular stage — SS6 — Myherin Main, is just under 26 km long. Bring your endurance, because it lasts a while :p The surface is 100% gravel/dirt.

Some notes:
– The map is not designed for free roam; there is actually only one road (special stage). If you stray outside the main area, you’ll see only one texture and lots of un-smoothed terrain that will wreck your vehicles.
– The coverage area is 12,288 x 12,288 meters, but the imported heightmap was reduced to 8,192 x 8,192 with a terrain resolution of 1.5 m per pixel. Because of this, detailing the areas was difficult, resulting in many rough edges around.
– The trees are mostly billboards (most with no more than 2 faces). I was told I could get as many full-poly trees without performance loss, but every time I tried, I got a 20 FPS slideshow.
– The landscape was imported from LiDAR scans. The resolution wasn’t very impressive, so it was mostly used for level blocking, then a lot of terraforming was done in the editor.
