A railway and crash playground for BeamNG.drive: a complete WD Railways circus train, a five-car bullet train, articulated animal crash-test dummies, four WrongDroid cars and three maps. Click anywhere on the train map to put a whole train on the nearest track. No manual dropping or car-by-car assembly.
WHAT'S NEW IN 2026.10.15-beta
(trains, plus a Wild Sandbox fix; the two WrongDroid Sandbox maps are unchanged)
- Side windows break away in hard crashes (bullet train lead cars, circus locomotive). Mild bumps leave them alone. Visual only.
- Click anywhere on the train map to place a train on the nearest track, with a gold marker. At most 8 trains per map ("N / 8" is shown).
- Trains hold their speed on the 26 degree hills; the circus train no longer runs away downhill.
- Bullet train: crumple-zone fronts, damaged paint, wheelsets that stay in one piece, crash sparks and smoke.
- Smaller download: five unused animal models removed.
- Wild Sandbox: the race circuit decoration models now load. Covered grandstands with tiered seating (red, blue and white roofs), pole flags and sign banners now stand beside the circuit. Before this fix the decoration files could not be read by the game and were skipped.
Full list: see the changelog.
DOWNLOADS: IMPORTANT
Download wrongdroid_vehicles.zip AND at least one map ZIP.
ModLand adds "_modland" to each file name. Before installing, rename each ZIP to remove "_modland" (for example wrongdroid_vehicles_modland.zip becomes wrongdroid_vehicles.zip), so it replaces any older copy instead of loading twice. BeamMP servers need the plain names too. Keep the ZIPs zipped when installing. You do not need all three maps.
- wrongdroid_vehicles.zip: REQUIRED shared trains, dummies, cars and vehicle menu.
- wild_sandbox.zip: WD Railways Desert Motorsport Festival; the recommended starting map.
- wd_sandbox.zip: WrongDroid Sandbox, the original desert stunt/city/railway map.
- wd_sandbox_halloween.zip: WrongDroid Sandbox: Halloween, the themed dusk edition.
TRAINS AND TRAIN CARS
WD Railways circus train: eight sections in one train vehicle:
1. No. 77 steam-style locomotive, marked "WD Railways".
2. Tender.
3. Giraffe cage car.
4. Elephant cage car.
5. Lion cage car.
6. Tiger cage car.
7. Bear cage car.
8. Caboose with its fitted wooden advertising sign.
WrongDroid bullet train: a complete five-car consist with front and rear cab cars, two enclosed middle cars and a central open landing deck for vehicle stunts. Deformable structure, breakable windows and couplings, track guidance and derailment behaviour.
CRASH-TEST DUMMIES
The loaded circus train places six separately simulated riders: giraffe, elephant, lion, tiger and bear dummies and an upright engine-driver dummy. The animals have articulated joints and respond to impacts. Realistic and Comic crash modes are included; Comic adds roof release, animal ejection, floppy airborne motion and comedic screams. This is a game effect, not a real-world safety simulation.
FOUR WRONGDROID CARS
WrongDroid Apex V8 (track car
), Blasphemy (sports coupe), Roadster (convertible) and Coyota Coupe (shown in the selector as "Codex Test Coupe 01 Coyota"). Find them under WrongDroid Vehicles > WrongDroid Cars. They are bundled; no separate car download is needed.
MAPS
Wild Sandbox / WD Railways Desert Motorsport Festival: twelve registered railway routes with crossings and steep hill runs; a 4.9 km paved race circuit with a start gantry, pit lane, barriers and covered grandstands; separate dirt, mud and ice venues; an elevated access road over three railway corridors; mile-marker signs; working railway crossings with warning lights, bell and lowering arms; a racing blimp; a starting-budget board beside the main spawn.
WrongDroid Sandbox: desert dunes and rivers, raised stunt roads, banked figure-eight, arenas, Leap of Faith, loop, airstrip and drag strip, dirt oval, hill climb, Droidville city, parking garage, car wash, railway with viaducts, tunnel and station, Toy Beach and off-road trails.
WrongDroid Sandbox: Halloween: the same sandbox dressed for Halloween at dusk, with pumpkins, ghosts, fog and themed effects.
HOW TO INSTALL AND PLACE A TRAIN
1. Put wrongdroid_vehicles.zip and your chosen map ZIP(s) in the mods folder of your BeamNG user folder (don't unzip them). Not sure where it is? In the launcher use Manage User Folder.
2. Replace older copies of the same mods. Don't install duplicate renamed copies.
3. Start the game and load Wild Sandbox, WrongDroid Sandbox or WrongDroid Sandbox: Halloween.
4. Open the radial menu, go to Sandbox > WrongDroid Vehicles and choose Map Train Picker. (Or add the UI app "WD Railways Train Map".)
5. Click any spot on the map. A gold marker shows where the train will stand. Choose Circus or Bullet and a departure speed, then press "Drop new train here". Trains start stopped by default.
6. Let the train and riders finish loading, then choose Drive My Train.
"Place Complete Circus Train on Tracks" and "Place Complete Bullet Train on Tracks" in the same menu still place a train on the nearest free track in one step. "Remove My Trains and Riders" removes your trains.
Limit: 8 trains per map. On Wild Sandbox the 4 trains standing on the start line count toward the 8; remove them first if you want more of your own.
Train placement needs registered track data; it works on the three maps above.
On WrongDroid Sandbox and its Halloween edition, installing wrongdroid_vehicles.zip hands the railway to the pack: the map's own self-starting train and RAILWAY menu step aside and you place trains with the picker instead (they start stopped). Without the pack those two maps behave as before.
CONTROLS (circus locomotive cab)
Click the reverse lever toward FORWARD, shift-click the brake to release it, click the throttle for more steam (shift-click reduces it), click the brake valve to brake. Hold the whistle chain or use your horn key. The sign in the cab explains it. The bullet train has its own cab levers and an emergency brake.
Wild Sandbox also has its own menu, Sandbox > Wild Sandbox Trains: race all trains at top speed, crash at the X, all trains 100 mph / stop, back to the start line, Crash mode Realistic / Comic, MPH or KPH.
KNOWN ISSUES (please read)
- Not tested on BeamMP: windows are handled by each player's own game, so players may not see them vanish at the same moment. File layout for a server is described in the kit; live multi-player has NOT been checked.
- Not tested on the 4K version of the map or on any computer except ours (one RTX 5090 desktop).
- Halloween map with these trains: tested in singleplayer on 2026-10-16 (circus and bullet trains placed with the picker, the 8-train limit, one bullet-vs-bullet and one circus-vs-bullet crash with the windows breaking away). No problem found. Trains from the pack look like they do on the other maps, not like the map's own skull-faced train. Not tested on BeamMP or on other computers.
- Wild Sandbox: the grandstands, pole flags and banners are visible in our test screenshots. The decoration files may also hold crowd figures; we could not clearly see any in our screenshots, so we do not promise a crowd.
- If you install wrongdroid_vehicles.zip without wild_sandbox.zip, the map list may show an empty entry called "wild_sandbox" (the pack carries the Wild Sandbox track data). Ignore it, or install wild_sandbox.zip too.
- The rear window of the last bullet car can still stretch up to about 2.3 m in a crash. It is never hidden (same as before this update).
- The circus train's wheelsets stay whole in only about 6 of 10 crash runs.
- The circus caboose window has the thinnest safety margin: in a mild test bump it came within 1.5 times of breaking away when it should not. No false break-away was seen in 12 mild test runs.
- In screenshots the windows look dark with or without glass. The break-away is confirmed by the game's own flag in our tests (36 of 36 hard-crash bullet trains, 12 of 12 circus locomotives), not by pictures. Flying glass shards were not seen.
- The window script costs about 0.5 to 0.7 percent of the frame rate on our test machine; other computers are untested.
PERFORMANCE
Large trains, articulated riders, debris and several players can be demanding; CPU and RAM matter as well as the graphics card. Start small. Suggested starting budgets at 1080p Low, no traffic (starting suggestions, not tested limits or FPS guarantees): RTX 5080 class 2 bullet OR 1 circus train; RTX 5070/4070/3070 class 1 bullet, try 2; RTX 5060/4060/3060 class 1 bullet; GTX 1660/RTX 2060 class a limited trial at 720p Lowest. Only an RTX 5090 desktop (Core Ultra 9 285K, 64 GB RAM, BeamNG 0.39.4) has been measured. With the 2026.10.15 build, the venue fix and 8 trains on the map Wild Sandbox ran at about 113 FPS standing still and about 86 FPS on average through a train crash (worst half second about 66 FPS). Measured on the same machine in the same session, the files from before the venue fix gave the same frame rate (about 114 FPS standing), so the added scenery cost nothing measurable. Other hardware may differ a lot.
COMPATIBILITY AND STATUS
Beta, version 2026.10.15-beta. Tested in singleplayer on BeamNG.drive 0.39.4 (build 0.39.4.0.20972): the four ZIPs were unpacked from the finished download kits and installed into a clean test profile. All three maps showed up in the map list and loaded. On each map the click-anywhere picker placed circus and bullet trains with no broken beams, the 8-train limit showed its "map is full" message, and a bullet-vs-bullet and a circus-vs-bullet crash broke the lead side windows away (6 crashes, 21 of 21 lead glass groups within 0.5 s). The maps also loaded with no other mods installed and no errors from our files. After the Wild Sandbox venue fix the map was tested again on 2026-10-16 (picker, 8-train limit, crashes, frame rate, game log): no Collada errors and no new errors. The full test paper is available on request (Discord WrongDroid).
BeamMP file layout is supported: put the map ZIP and wrongdroid_vehicles.zip in Resources/Client. A loaded circus train uses seven vehicle slots (one train plus six riders). Wild Sandbox also uses two crossing props. Allow at least 10 slots for one circus train, your own car and the crossings.
No claim of real-world crash accuracy or guaranteed frame rate is made.
