Description
Realistic Diesel Runaway is a mod that simulates uncontrolled oil combustion in diesel engines.
Engine runaway can be triggered by the vehicle rolling over, damaged piston rings, or turbocharger failure. Depending on the situation, the engine may over-rev, seize, hydrolock, sustain thermal damage, or stall due to drivetrain load.
Features
- Realistic oil consumption and intake-oil simulation
- Multiple possible engine failure modes
- Emergency air intake cutoff
- Support for vanilla and many modded diesel vehicles
Controls can be configured under Options → Controls → Realistic Diesel Runaway. No keys are assigned by default.
This is a beta version. Vehicles with completely custom Lua powertrains may not be supported.
Installation Instructions
Place the ZIP file in the BeamNG.drive mods folder without extracting it. Remove older versions to avoid conflicts.
