Metal Furnace in Farming Simulator 25: How to Use and Profit From It?
Farming Simulator 25 has a new production unit, the metallurgical furnace (or iron furnace), which is included in the Silverrun Forest map.
Unlike many other production units, it is not placed on the map initially, but is available as a placeable object if the map itself is installed.
Below is a full guide to using this facility, including setting it up, running it, and calculating profitability.
Where to Find and How to Place a Metal Furnace

To get started with metal production, you need to go into Build Mode and select the Factories category. In the list of available productions will be Iron Furnace, which can be installed in any convenient place on the map. The cost of placing the furnace is 180,000 dollars. It comes with the Silverrun Forest map and works exclusively on this map without additional modification.
Raw Material Source: How to Get Iron Ore

The only input material for a metallurgical furnace is Iron Ore (Iron Ore). It can be obtained in two ways:
1. Use the pre-installed mine on the Silverrun Forest map. The mine is located in the north and is available to all players without the need to buy the land. There is machinery available for free use in the area around the location.
2. Locate your own mine, which costs $250,000. It produces approximately 40,000 liters of ore per day and this amount is available at no additional cost.
Iron ore is extremely heavy, so it will require powerful machinery to transport it. To load the ore into the furnace, you simply drive up to the inlet trigger and unload the contents of the trailer.
How the metallurgical furnace works

The furnace functions according to one recipe: 416 liters of iron ore → 380 liters of metal. Production occurs 24 cycles per month, that's about 9,000 liters of metal per month. The furnace's internal storages can hold up to 60,000 liters of ore and 20,000 liters of finished metal.
It is controlled through the standard production menu, where one of the operating modes can be set:
- Storing - pallets of metal will appear at the output as the required volume accumulates.
- Selling - automatic sale of products every hour with a small commission.
- Distributing - automatic transfer of metal to other production facilities, such as a barrel factory.
Activation of the furnace is done manually and a warning sign will be displayed if materials are not available.
Profitability of production

Metal production using the free mine brings a net profit, as the cost of raw materials is zero. Running 24 cycles per month produces about 9,000 liters of metal from 10,000 liters of ore. At current market prices, this is equivalent to profitability of up to $49,000 per month with a full cycle of production.
If we take into account the amortization of the cost of the mine ($250,000), we can calculate the notional cost of iron ore and, accordingly, reduce the monthly profit to $43,000-44,000. Thus, if it were desired to pay off the mine in a year, the cost of 1,000 liters of ore would be about $521.
The furnace consumes 10,000 liters of ore per month, which means that a full load is enough for 6 months of autonomous operation. At the same time, one mine can supply up to four furnaces, which makes it very efficient for large-scale production.
With high productivity and the ability to get raw materials for free, the kiln can boost your revenues in FS25. With the right logistics and the right mode of operation, you will have a steady supply of metal to sell or recycle to other facilities.
