GIANTS Software has announced the release of the Precision Farming 3.0 update for Farming Simulator 25. The new module will be available on May 8. It promises to add improved realism and enhanced farming gameplay.

Since its initial release, the Precision Farming add-on has been downloaded more than 5 million times. Such a large number of downloads shows the great usefulness of the modification.  And in the third version will be added a lot more innovations.

The developers plan to introduce tramlines into the game. This means that it will be possible to more finely adjust the trajectory of machinery in the fields to plant crops more evenly. They also plan to add the ability to receive in-game subsidies for planting siderates such as oil radishes. These mechanics reference real-life government support schemes for farmers in Europe.

Precision Farming 3.0 will introduce pulse width modulation (PWM) for sprayers. Each nozzle will independently adjust the application rate depending on the speed and maneuvers of the equipment.

Another useful innovation is automatic section control. The system will shut off unnecessary equipment segments when overlapping already treated areas to prevent overruns.

The update will also include six new pieces of equipment, including a John Deere R975i sprayer and a Winehoff 25.200 PTW Proy line modular frame system with manure sensor. Modernization options for this equipment will be available. That is, it will be possible to install Trimble Weed Seeker 2 sensors for spot weed control. Previously, this option was only available on John Deere equipment.

Precision Farming 3.0 was developed in partnership with universities and agri-tech organizations, including the University of Reading and the EIT Food initiative. Giants Software have taken things seriously, so, the update should be pretty massive.

The first live demos of the update will be available next week, with a full release on May 8. Farming Simulator 25 is gradually approaching a new pinnacle of the simulation genre, and Precision Farming 3.0 is a solid step in that direction. So we're looking forward to it!
