As you know, Giants Software is preparing for the release of a large-scale DLC called Highlands Fishing Expansion, which will bring to the game a new type of activity - fishing, as well as a new map, farming and equipment.

The expansion will be released on November 4th, but before that the developers are warming up the community with interesting details about the upcoming expansion. Let’s see what they showed us this time.

Start of the journey: fish feed and fodder production

From the previous news about DLC you probably already know that it will be fishing and you will have a unique opportunity not only to angling, but also to engage in industrial fish farming. You will grow your own pups and use them to raise adult fish.

But to grow they need food. For this the developers envisaged 2 options. You can either buy fish feed from the store or produce it yourself.

The choice of options depends on your preferences and capacity. However, judging by the benefit, the option with independent production of feed is still better.

Where to breed fish in FS25?

Breeding will take place in special water farms, which can be purchased at the port. At the port you can also buy a cargo ship to transport pallets with fish ladles.

The developers discovered that in this way it will be possible to grow salmon and trout. About other species nothing is known yet. They will spawn and give birth, and thus you will set up a fishing business and put it on stream.

Trout and salmon farming process

It is a very responsible business, requiring special approach, knowledge and attention. Everything begins with the purchase of special pools where the boys will grow. You can buy such products through the mode "Construction", in the section "Production chain" in the category "Aquaculture".

After the purchase and construction you will see a special building, inside of which there will be water farms. There will be a designated area marked with an icon to unload the feed.

What to do with the little fish?

When they reach a certain age, the calves can either be sold or continue their breeding and raise larger fish that will later give birth to offspring.

In the first option, everything is quite simple. You buy (if it is not) any truck, load young trout or salmon in boxes and take to the fish market, which can be found on the map by the appropriate badge.

The second option will require more labor and investment. But in the future it will allow to create a whole production that will turn into a profitable business.

Boat and pond

Of course, industrial fish farming is very profitable, but do not forget that on the new map Kinlaig will also be available regular sport fishing.

How this will be read in the previous review. And what’s more, for such an interesting entertainment there is a special boat that you can go out to water and enjoy the beautiful nature and calm your nerves with your favorite activity.

Also interesting is that there will be a pond in which you can breed fish. If you own a piece of land, you can buy it in construction mode. This is an alternative way to grow fish.
