Fields of Stories expands Farming Simulator with a dynamic neighborhood of 13 virtual characters who live and work independently in your world and interact with you. Each character has an individual daily routine and tasks. You meet characters randomly at the gas station, in the field, at the dealer, or anywhere across the map. Have conversations, build relationships, and support them when they need help.
Features:
- Up to 13 characters, including farmers, family members, mayor, contractor, grain trader, civilians, and machinery dealer/mechanic.
- 4 independently working farmers who manage their own fields and machinery fleets following a cultivation plan and daily schedule.
- Dynamic daily routines including sleeping, working, shopping, and refueling.
- Random encounters in the game world at public places or out in the field.
- Spoken, natural conversations in German and English with individual voices and random topics.
- Phone calls from farmers when they need help with specific tasks.
- Field contracts based on farmer workloads.
- Ability to borrow machinery from farmers' yards for contracts.
Characters:
Farmers: 4 farmers work their fields independently (plowing, cultivating, seeding, fertilizing, and harvesting). They have realistic machinery fleets and defined parking spots at their farms.
Contractor: Supports during peak periods and with special jobs such as harvesting potatoes, sugar beets, or specialty crops.
Forester: Takes care of forests and forest paths, focusing on wildfire risks in summer.
Mayor: Found in public places; a good relationship helps expand your farm and provides contacts for field areas and the local economy.
Grain trader: Travels the region and buys grain from the farmers.
Family: Helps with routine tasks on the farm and in the fields.
Machinery dealer: Responsible for maintenance, repair, and the sale of machines.
Roadmap:
- Individual small talk with positive and negative relationship development.
- Enhanced farmer gameplay (taking over field work, borrowing machines).
- Communication via phone for jobs, meetings, and small talk.
- Assigning tasks to helpers via phone and in person.
- Character movement and driving on supported maps.
- Expanded gameplay for the Contractor, Forester, Mayor, Machinery dealer, and Grain trader.
- Small missions, random events, and a story mode with long-term arcs.
- Free-form communication.
Supported maps:
- All GIANTS standard maps (Riverbend Springs, Hutan Pantai, and Zielonka are already optimized).
- All mod maps (locations are created automatically).
Controls:
- SHIFT + R: Start conversation.
- SHIFT + F3: Fields of Stories menu.
Menu Options:
- Story tab: Overview of characters, relationship levels, and points.
- Map locations: Place encounter locations on the map.
- Character settings: Reset or remove individual characters and home locations.
- Mod settings: Function to remove all mod contents.
- Game Settings: Adjust the number of contract calls per day.
Map Optimization:
- Generator: Automatically detects known objects to create locations on unknown maps.
- Home locations: Adjust house locations and create parking spots for farmers.
- Field paths: Manually add parking spots by driving field paths.
- Cleanup: Remove faulty locations.
- Misc: Add industry or leisure location types.
Other:
- Relationships: Measured with points and levels; conversations provide points and money.
- Conversations: Based on situational behavior and include real vehicle/work information.
- Voices: Voiced in German and English via downloaded voice packs.
- Missions: Future versions will expand conversations into acceptable missions.
