Game modes in Farming Simulator 25 (FS25): What Beginners Need to Know
When you start playing FS25, you may notice that one of the start screens has a mode selection option.
This article will discuss these modes. We will look at what game modes are available and which one is best to choose.
New Farmer — the starting mode for beginners

The New Farmer mode is suitable for beginners in Farming Simulator 25. You get a starter farm with basic equipment, a small amount of land, and $100,000 in your account.
The economy here is simplified, and there are no debts. Also, a full step-by-step tutorial tour will be available on the Riverbend Springs map, where NPCs will explain the basics of the game, offer contracts, and help you understand the mechanics. It's a kind of “light” story mode with initial training.
In the starting mode, you can change the amount of starting capital or take out a loan of up to $1 million.
Farm Manager — for those who already understand the essence of the game

The “Farm Manager” mode offers a more advanced starting position. Here you have no land or equipment, but you have a decent amount of money in your account and no debts. In this case, the economy is set to “normal.”
This is a balanced mode, suitable for those who already understand the basics and want to build their farm from scratch without pre-built buildings and a predetermined landscape.
There is no tutorial in this mode!
Start from Scratch — a challenge for hardcore gamers

If you want a real challenge, choose the “Start from Scratch” mode. Here you will find a “Hard” difficulty level economy, a starting debt of $250,000, and only $500,000 in your account.
You have no equipment, land, or support. This is a hardcore mode in which you will literally have to survive and build your production from scratch, take maximum risks, and calculate every step.
Guided Tour and pseudo-story mode

Although Farming Simulator 25 does not officially have a story mode, the tutorial tour in Riverbend Springs in “New Farmer” mode replaces it in a sense.
You interact with NPCs, complete tasks, develop your farm, and receive comments as you play.
Only Riverbend Springs supports Guided Tour. On other maps, such as Hutan Pantai and Zielonka, this feature is available in the menu but cannot be activated in the game itself.
In any of the modes, you can also customize the following parameters yourself:
- Starting capital with which you will start the game;
- Starting credit;
- Economic complexity;
- Starting farm;
- And the “Guided Intro Tour” mode.
