Guide to Automatic Cow Feeding in FS25!
Not satisfied with spending a lot of time feeding cows in Farming Simulator 25? No problem! You can automate this process quite easily and save yourself from the annoying monotonous work of feeding animals. This is what we will talk about below.
You can find an automatic barn feeder in the Animal Pens section of the store. Its cost is quite high, and the capacity is limited to 93 cows. However, it is possible to install an additional pasture if more space is needed.
It is important to consider a few key factors when placing it.
First, the system requires mineral supplements, but this item is not shown in the list of required resources, which is often a problem for novice players.
Secondly, Silo Extensions must be installed in advance to accumulate manure, otherwise the waste will not be collected.
How the auto-feeding system works

Unlike conventional barns, where Total Mixed Ration (TMR) needs to be mixed, the automatic complex is able to do it on its own. It takes the main components - hay, straw, silage and mineral supplements - and forms a balanced feed mixture from them. The feed is then automatically fed to the animals through a distribution system.
Mineral supplements are an essential element of the system's operation. If they are not loaded, automatic feeding will not start.
Adding animals and caring for cows
To populate the barn, you can use the standard animal purchase point (Animal Trigger), or you can deliver livestock using a trailer. In addition to cows, the automatic system also supports the housing of water buffalo.
Milk is collected in a designated area with a corresponding icon. If manure production is planned, the bedding system must be activated by first installing the manure storage extension (Manure Extension). Straw is then loaded into the barn, which not only serves as bedding but is also part of the feed mixture. If manure is not needed, the bedding can be dispensed with.
How to load the feeding components

There are four basic components required to operate an automatic barn:
-
Hay - can be obtained by drying grass or purchased at the store in bale form.
-
Silage - is produced by fermenting grass or corn and is also available for purchase.
-
Straw - left over from harvesting grain crops and can be collected from the field or purchased at the store.
-
Mineral supplements - sold in the Food section or loaded through Karma 16, a special seed storage container that also supports mineral supplements.
Loading can be done in either bale or bulk form. When the components are applied, the system automatically distributes them to the appropriate compartments.
Feed mix mixing proportions (TMR)
The automatic feed mixing system uses the following proportions to create a balanced ration:
- 37.4% hay
- 37.4% silage
- 20.4% straw
- 4.8% mineral supplements
Strict adherence to these proportions ensures high feed quality and maximum cow productivity.
Additional features of the system
The auto-feeder does not require water - it is automatically replenished from the game account.
The feeding system is triggered at regular intervals. When the mixing process starts, it is temporarily impossible to add new ingredients. As the number of cows increases, the frequency of feeding increases.
The feed robot can be visually observed as it moves to pick up the necessary ingredients and distributes the feed evenly across the sections.
Despite the high cost, the auto-feeding system reduces the time and effort required to feed the cows. The main thing is to replenish the necessary ingredients in time and monitor the feed mix balance.
