How to Grow Vegetables in Faming Simulator 25
Growing vegetables in FS25 involves preparing the field, planting, caring for crops, harvesting, and selling produce. All vegetables (carrots, parsnips, red beets) have a similar process.
It all starts with soil preparation. First, you need to plow or cultivate the field. If the “Mandatory Plowing” option is enabled in the settings, you will need to use a plow, spader, or subsoiler.
The “Soil Composition” section displays all the necessary information about the field.
If the plot is highlighted in red, plowing is mandatory. After that, it is recommended to add lime (if necessary). Such measures should be taken every three harvests.
Additionally, before planting, you can use a ridger — a device that forms ridges. This is not a mandatory step, but under ideal conditions, it adds one layer of fertilizer. However, in the current version of the game, this feature may not work correctly — it is recommended to avoid using it until it is fixed.
Planting vegetables: choosing equipment and seasonality
Vegetables should be sown using special seeders. They can be purchased in the store in the “Vegetable Seeders” section.
These seeders support the planting of carrots, parsnips, and beets. When purchasing, pay attention to the icons of the vegetables they support.
Fill the machine with seed, drive to the field and start sowing. It is more economical to use the cheapest ones.
Ideally, there should be two layers of fertilizer on the field by the time of harvest. If the ridger did not work, then you need to fertilize manually — once immediately after planting, and the second time after a month.
If the season mode is enabled, vegetables can only be planted in certain months (for example, carrots from April to July).
The harvest must be collected within a strictly specified period, otherwise the crop will die. If the season mode is disabled, you can plant and harvest at any time.
Vegetable care: fertilizers and weed control

After planting, the field requires care. If there is no fertilizer layer, use a fertilizer spreader to apply the first layer. After a month (game time), apply the second layer. You can use any type of fertilizer: solid, liquid, manure, or slurry.
Also keep an eye on the weeds. As soon as they appear, destroy them to avoid a penalty on your yield. They are afraid of herbicide (if you have a sprayer) or mechanical treatment with a hoe or hoe cultivator.
There are three types of weeds: small, medium, and large. Each size requires its own technique; check the information in the lower right corner of the screen when approaching the field.
You can disable weed growth in the settings if you don't want to deal with removing them. But in this case, your yield will decrease.
Harvesting: techniques, nuances, and alternatives
When harvest season arrives, you need to decide on a harvesting machine. You can find them in the “Vegetable Harvesting Machines” category.
The most productive of these has a working width of 3 meters and a speed of 4 km/h. Unfortunately, many of these harvesters do not have internal storage, and the harvest is unloaded through a pipe. In addition, you will need to use a trailer to unload the harvest into it so that it does not fall to the ground.
The most practical option is a harvester with a small but built-in 5,500-liter hopper — it can be used without assistants.
Vegetables produce a large harvest. Even from a single row, you can harvest up to 800 liters of produce. But the harvesting process itself is slow, especially on large fields.
Therefore, despite the profitability of the crop, harvesting it takes a lot of time and effort. But you can use AI assistants and GPS to make your work easier.
What to do with the harvest: storage, sale, and processing
After harvesting, the crop can be temporarily unloaded onto the ground and then transferred to a trailer. Storage in warehouses is not provided for in the base game.
The easiest way is to sell the vegetables. Go to the price menu, select, for example, “Carrots” and find the point with the highest price. Sell there.
Vegetables are also used in animal feed (carrots for horses and pigs).
But the greatest profit comes from processing through production chains. Products such as soups and canned goods sell for more than raw materials. If you own a production facility, this is a great opportunity to increase your income from the harvest.
