Chickens are the easiest and most affordable type of animal in Farming Simulator 25. They don't require water, straw or complicated care, but they are consistently profitable in the form of eggs. With minimal investment, raising chickens can give a good start at the beginning of the game. Therefore, let's understand this case in more detail.
Setting up a pen for chickens

To begin with, you need to build a chicken coop. Go to the construction menu, select the “Animals” section, then “Chickens”. In the list you will find several options. There will be available small pens for 20-30 chickens and a large one for 360 chickens.
Choose according to the scale of your farm. Keep in mind that you cannot change the capacity after installation.
Find a suitable location and place the chicken coop. Chickens do not have a pasture version and do not need free range. This is a huge plus for them.
Buying chickens

Once the pen is set up, an interactive area with a paw icon will appear. If it's not there, turn on the display in the settings.
Chickens can only be bought directly through the pen menu. To do this, go to the icon, press R (on PC), select the desired quantity. Chicks 0 months old and adults 6 months old are available. Youngsters are cheaper but will not lay until they reach maturity.
Adult hens will start producing eggs immediately. You can also buy roosters, but they are not necessary - the hens will lay and breed without them. There is a delivery fee for each hen - $1 to $5 depending on age.
Feeding and care

Chickens are the easiest animals to care for. They do not need water, straw or any additional conditions. The only thing they need is feed.
Three crops are suitable: wheat, barley and sorghum. Any one of them can give 100% productivity.
To unload the feed, drive the trailer to the feeder icon and press the unload key. You can also buy ready-made feed at the store. But it is expensive - about $1500 for 1000 liters. It is more profitable to grow the feed yourself.
The volume of the chicken feeder is about 8000 liters. Make sure that there is always grain in it - without feed, chickens will not lay or breed.
Breeding and productivity
Hens reach maturity at 6 months of age. After that they start laying eggs and producing offspring.
If space is available, an adult hen produces one chick about every 5-6 days. If the pen is full, breeding stops.
To ensure that hens are always actively laying and producing offspring, sell adult hens regularly. Chickens are always 100% healthy if they are fed - no additional conditions for productivity are required.
Collecting and selling eggs
Eggs appear in a special area next to the pen (box icon). Pallets are formed there, which can be sold directly or used in production.
The average price is up to $2500 per pallet in the normal economy. Remember to pick up the pallets on time, otherwise new eggs will not appear. This is the main source of profit from chickens.
Selling chickens
The sale is only available through the pen menu. Go to the paw icon, select the desired quantity and confirm. A transportation fee is deducted for the sale. You cannot use the trailer to transport chickens.
Earnings from selling the chickens themselves are small - it is more profitable to keep full occupancy and make money on eggs.
That's all for now. Below you can watch a great video, which clearly shows the process of breeding chickens in FS25.
