Order on the farm means not only neatly plowed fields and properly arranged equipment, but also a clear understanding of where everything is located. Farming Simulator 25 has a convenient feature—renaming buildings. It works on all platforms: PC, Xbox, or PlayStation. Let's figure out how to use it and why it is needed.
First, you need to access the construction menu.
1. Open the construction menu
-
On a PC, press Shift + P.
-
On consoles, use the button corresponding to the construction menu (depending on the platform, this is usually one of the buttons on the D-pad or menu).
2. Select the tab with already constructed objects
Go to the “Buildings” or “Productions” section, depending on what you want to rename: pen, bakery, silo, etc.
3. Hover your cursor over the desired building on the map
Use the cursor to hover over the building you want to rename. A control menu will appear at the bottom of the screen.
On a PC, this is usually the Space key.
On consoles, the corresponding button will be indicated on the screen (for example, X or ▢, depending on the platform).
5. Enter the new name for the building.
A text entry window will appear. Enter the desired name (e.g., “Main Silo,” “South Bakery,” etc.).
6. Confirm the change.
Press Enter (or the corresponding button on the controller) to save the new name.
The building will now be displayed under its new name in the menu and on the map, which makes it much easier to manage your farm — especially if you have dozens of buildings.
Which buildings can be renamed
Not all objects can be edited. For example, some barns and farm buildings do not support renaming. But silos, animal pens, and especially production buildings can be easily renamed to suit your needs.
This is very convenient. Let's say you have two pastures — you can name one “Old Pasture” and the other “New Pasture.” The same goes for silos — “Main Farm Silo” or “Spare Warehouse.” This will help you avoid confusion, especially if your farm has grown.
Why you should rename
The main reason is organization. The new names will be displayed on the map, and you will always know where everything is located. This is also useful when working with AI assistants, because when setting a route for automatic delivery of resources or feed, you can select the desired building by name.
Also, if you have two bakeries, for example, you can label one as “Bakery 1” and the other as “Bakery by the South Field.” Then you will always be able to tell which is which in the menu and won't get confused about where to take resources.
Cons and limitations
There are some limitations.
-
Names are not displayed on all interfaces, especially for animal pens — this can be a bit annoying if there are many such objects.
-
In addition, renaming does not affect the display of contents in silos — you will see the total volume of production without specifying a specific warehouse.
But even with these nuances, the renaming feature is very useful.
