How to Start and Run Carpentry Production in FS25
Carpentry is one of the basic production chains in Farming Simulator 25. To make it profitable, you need to approach it responsibly and know what to do and how to do it. Therefore, here we will look at how to set up and use carpentry points in the basic version of the game.
We will take a step-by-step look at the process of purchasing, placing, loading raw materials, setting up production, moving pallets, and calculating profitability.
On some maps, carpentry points are already set up and can be purchased. But there is also an option to set them up yourself through the construction menu.
How to find, buy, and place carpentry production
Open the map and look for the carpentry production icon. If there is already a point on the map, hover your cursor over it and select the “visit” function — you will immediately find yourself on the territory of the object.
Near the workshop, you will find a wrench icon. Approach it and press the action key (R on a PC) to purchase the object.
If you want to sell the carpentry factory, go to Build Mode, select the desired point, and click “sell.” However, selling an object in this way will result in financial losses.
To place a carpentry workshop, enter Build Mode, go to the “Factories” section, and find the desired object. The database offers a large factory costing 300,000 and a compact version.
Place it in a convenient location. Before placing it, don't forget to consider the direction of entry and exit (input/output) so that it is convenient to load and unload materials.
What materials are needed for carpentry production

The factory works with three types of raw materials:
- regular boards,
- long boards,
- and unprocessed wood.
These materials can be obtained at the sawmill.
A special unloading area in the form of a platform with a special badge is provided for loading materials for production.
Regular and long boards are unloaded automatically after entering the designated area. If you have superpowers enabled (on PC via the console or mod), you can move pallets manually.
On consoles, you will need a loader or a telescopic loader with forks.
Unprocessed logs must be placed in the same area as the pallets, or you must activate the action button next to it.
How to manage carpentry production
Now you need to turn on production so that it starts working.
There are three ways to access the settings. The first is through the game menu: open the “factories” tab, select your point, and enter the interface.
The second way is to approach the building and press the action key next to the wrench icon.
The third and fastest way is to open the map, find the carpentry point icon, and press “management.”
Inside the menu, you will see a list of available recipes: making furniture from long boards, from regular boards, and from raw wood.
Each recipe has parameters: the amount of raw materials per cycle, the output (in liters), the number of production cycles per month, and the cost of maintenance.
You can activate the desired recipe by pressing the “enable” button. If there are no raw materials, a warning will appear with an exclamation mark icon and the caption “not enough materials.”
How to set up the finished product output mode

Once production is activated, you need to set up how the finished products will be processed. In the carpentry shop menu, there is an “Output Mode” parameter that determines what will happen to the furniture produced.
The default mode is “Storing.” In this mode, products accumulate inside the factory, and every 1,000 liters, a pallet is created, which appears in the shipping area next to the production facility.
If you change the mode to “Selling,” the system will automatically sell furniture every hour of game time. However, this comes with a commission of 20 to 40 percent, depending on the level of complexity of the economy. Therefore, this mode should only be used in case of urgent need.
But it is best to sell the furniture yourself during the appropriate season to get the maximum price.
The “distributing” mode is also available. It is used if you have another production facility that accepts furniture as raw materials. In this case, the game will transfer the products to the next facility for free so that you don't have to transport the pallets manually. However, in the basic version of the game, there are no other production facilities that use furniture as an input resource. Therefore, the use of this mode is highly questionable.
How to work with furniture pallets
When furniture is produced, pallets begin to appear in a specific area near the production facility. These areas are marked with semi-transparent squares on the ground. Each carpentry point has its own side for shipping. If pallets do not appear, check if the production facility is overloaded and if the “storage” mode is activated.
Ready-made pallets can either be sold or used in construction projects on the map. Some types of houses and objects require furniture as part of the construction resource, so storing pallets before construction begins may be a wise decision.
To sell furniture, open the map, find a retail outlet that accepts furniture, and take the pallets there. Prices are best in July.
How to move pallets

If you are playing on a PC, you can activate super strength mode using a console command or install a mod. In this mode, pallets can be moved manually. Console owners do not have this option, so they will have to use special equipment.
A tractor with a front loader is ideal. Before purchasing equipment from a store, select the desired model and check that it has the appropriate parameters before buying it. If necessary, install it by selecting the type of attachment (e.g., Quicky or Hauer). Next, go to the “Front Loaders” category, select a compatible option in terms of power, and purchase pallet forks.
If you need more powerful equipment or work with heavy pallets, the following machines are suitable: telescopic loader, front loader, wheel loader, or mini loader.
However, all of this equipment requires additional equipment. For example, for a telescopic loader, you need to buy “tools for telescopic loaders” rather than general tools.
After purchasing, simply connect the tool to the equipment by driving up to the front and pressing the connection button. Lifting and lowering is controlled with a mouse or gamepad, depending on the platform.
An alternative method is forklifts
Forklifts are a simpler option for moving pallets. They are available in the store in the “Forklifts” category.
These machines are designed exclusively for working with pallets and do not require additional configuration. Choose the model that suits your budget and capabilities, and just start working.
Forklifts are especially convenient in small areas or inside hangars. They are very maneuverable and can lift and move pallets without damaging the surrounding infrastructure. However, they are less effective than heavier equipment on rough terrain and when transporting over long distances.
Features of split production
Carpentry production in the game is a type of split production. This means that if you activate several recipes at once (for example, from wood and boards), the total number of production cycles per month will be divided between them. That is, if a recipe specifies 336 cycles per month and you have activated three recipes, each of them will only work at a third of its capacity.
If production were undivided, each recipe would work at full capacity regardless of the others. In this case, you would get more output when activating all recipes at the same time. However, since the carpentry point is divided, activating several recipes at once will lead to a decrease in efficiency. Therefore, it is advisable to activate only one recipe at a time and use it to the maximum, especially if you want to get the most out of your raw materials.
