Farming Simulator 25 now offers the possibility of mining iron - but not in the way it happens in real life.

You can't become a helmeted miner, but you will get a stable source of iron ore if you master the functionality of the Silverrun Forest map. Let's find out how this system works and what you can do with it.

Where is the iron mine and how to find it

It should be noted that in the base version of the game, the iron mine is available only on the Silverrun Forest map. This is the official map from the Giants developers and was previously included in the Platinum add-on for Farming Simulator 22. Now it can be downloaded for free.

If you open the map, the mine is located in the northern part of Silverrun Forest. There is a pile of iron ore on the mountainside, and next to it is a couple of conveyor belts that you can use.

These objects are given to you initially, they don't belong to anyone, and you can't sell them - just use them.

How to build your own mine

Iron ore is not mined manually, but appears in the form of piles, which over time accumulate near the mine. If you don't like the current location of the mine, or you want to scale production, you can always place an additional one. To do this, go to the “Factories” section in construction mode, scroll down and select the MineShaft facility. Such a facility costs 250,000 game units.

There are also good areas in the southern part of the map, where it is convenient to place both a mine and, for example, a smelter - an object with which you can produce metal coils from ore.

One thing: when placing a mine, it will be automatically “glued” to certain angles and directions. It can not be freely rotated - you will have to adjust a little.

How to mine and transport iron ore

Once the mine is installed (or if you use a standard mine), a pile of ore will start to form nearby. This process is slow: it can take several game months for the mountain of iron to become impressive.

To work, you will need equipment with a bucket - a front loader, wheel loader or other similar machine. Scoop out the ore and transfer it to a suitable trailer. This is where it's worth making a little list to understand which trailers are suitable:

Exception - trailers designed exclusively for grain or feed (they will not accept ore).

Iron is a heavy material, so do not underestimate its weight. For transportation, you should use powerful machinery with good traction. This is especially true if you are loading ore in the mountains - it can be a challenge to get down with a full trailer.

How to simplify the process: conveyor belts

The map provides an alternative way of loading with conveyor belts. These systems have proven their worth in Farming Simulator 22. If you set them up correctly, you can automate the loading process and do without a bucket.

A nuance: on PC you can use the Store Delivery mod to “teleport” conveyors directly to the desired location. On consoles there is no such possibility, so the equipment will have to be delivered yourself.

After installing the conveyors, disable the automatic start of the engine in the settings.



Due to this, the belts will be able to work without an operator inside. You connect one conveyor to another, turn on the power - and the iron begins to gradually feed into the trailer. Quick, convenient and effortless.

What to do with the ore next

It is impossible to sell iron ore directly at the time of writing this guide. It is absent from the list of standard outlets. However, this is easily solved - download the mod “Sell Everything” or any other container-seller and you can sell anything.
