The IHC 1255XL to 1455XL belong to the legendary International Harvester XL series,
which became known in the 1980s for its robust construction, high level of comfort, and durability.
These tractors were produced between 1981 and 1996 – initially by International Harvester (IHC),
later after the takeover by Case IH.
The 1255XL and 1455XL models (as well as the smaller 1055XL and 956XL) were characterized by their
powerful six-cylinder diesel engines with displacements of 5.9 to 6.6 liters. The IHC 1455XL,
the top model in the series, produced approximately 145 hp, making it one of the most powerful standard tractors
of its time.
