FS25: Tornadoes, Hail, and New Weather Conditions
A new trailer for Farming Simulator 25 has been released, showcasing numerous exciting innovations and changes expected in the new game. The video was presented at Gamescom 2024.
In the trailer, viewers can spot new agricultural machinery, numerous graphical enhancements, physics changes, and much more. However, the main focus is on the new, highly unusual and thrilling features that are expected to significantly enhance the gameplay: the improved weather conditions.
Tornadoes

Yes, tornadoes will be present in FS 25, as shown in the promotional video. A significant portion of the 2 minutes and 22 seconds of the video is dedicated to this phenomenon.
The tornado in the game looks breathtaking and realistic. This is a very unusual and unique feature that has not been seen in previous installments of the game.
It's expected that tornadoes will be able to destroy buildings, tear roofs off houses and barns, and possibly even impact crop yields by damaging or completely destroying them.
This unusual mechanic is likely to greatly affect gameplay, making the game much more interesting. Players will need to come up with new ways to protect their lands and crops from the destructive force of a tornado.
During a storm, a tornado can be so strong that it can knock down and break trees and many other objects.
Storms and Hail

Additionally, a new mechanic for storms and hail will be introduced. This weather phenomenon, like tornadoes, can cause damage to farms and crops in the fields. Players will no longer be able to leave bales out in the open, as they might be damaged by these natural disasters.
Tornadoes and storms will be short-lived, and when the weather calms down, the sun will rise, and the surroundings will become bright and clear.
Other Improvements
The trailer, which you can watch at the bottom of the page, also shows many other interesting mechanics and improvements. Specifically, the visual style of mud and soil has been significantly enhanced. Now, after rain, your fields will become wet, and the soil will turn to mud. Of course, this only affects the top layer of soil, which will dry out over time.
The physics and visual style of raindrops have also been improved. Drops will realistically flow down equipment and splatter on the asphalt.
You can watch the trailer below to discover other, smaller changes in the game for yourself.
Can't wait to see my crops get magically obliterated haha
I watched the Video yesterday when it was released and I must say the game has come along way since I started playing it starting with 2011 version. The graphics have improved a whole lot, The addition of life threating weather is a plus and the fields when they are plowed the furrows are no longer straight as a arrow. Not true dynamic ground where the dirt would look like it's been turned over but definatly a step forward. Overall the game has improved alot, and I can not wait to play it when it releases Nov 12th 2024. Well done Giant's on listening to your players and modders.
