Overview of new NPC's in FS25: David – The Urban Farmer
Not too long ago, we discussed how Giants are planning to enhance NPC features in the new Farming Simulator 25. We also took a look at the first NPC they introduced—Grandpa Walter, who lives on a farm. And now, just a short while later, the developers have revealed another non-playable character, David.
Let’s get to know him better. Although we don’t have much information yet, there’s still plenty to discuss.
David’s Story in FS25
David used to live in the city, but he became so fed up with the hustle and bustle of urban life that he decided to leave everything behind and make a bold move by relocating to the countryside. He became a farmer.
So far, he hasn't achieved any major success in farming, but he’s determined and never gets discouraged by setbacks. What’s more, results aren’t his main priority—he’s more focused on enjoying the process itself, whether it's growing crops or working the fields.
David's Character Traits and Quirks in Farming Simulator 25
The developers have given David a distinct personality, along with unique traits and quirks that set him apart from other characters. This gives him individuality, making him a full-fledged character rather than just a decorative figure.
When you approach him, you can engage in an interesting small talk where he shares his farming experiences, even though he hasn’t been particularly successful.
Moreover, David’s advice might seem not only useful but also a bit odd at times.
One of David’s most intriguing quirks is his belief that everything around him is just a simulation, a set of stage props. Perhaps his thoughts aren’t as strange as they seem?
Game mechanics and abilities of this NPC
The new NPCs added to Farming Simulator 25 are much more than just decorative elements filling the game map. They play a more active role in gameplay and can interact with the player in meaningful ways. In fact, they’re fully-fledged characters who can actively participate in gameplay, which is great news.
David doesn’t just give advice and share stories. He will have specific roles in the game. While the developers haven’t confirmed anything yet, it’s likely that players will be able to receive tasks from him, and he may even interact with other non-playable characters.
Unfortunately, the developers haven’t shared any specific details yet, so this is just speculation for now. But implementing such mechanics would make sense, as it’s something players have been hoping for in the series for many years.
What Role Does David Play in the Game?
In Farming Simulator 25, David is more than just an NPC you can have conversations with. He acts as an advisor and a local “expert” on farming matters.
You’ll find him on the porch of his house, adding a cozy, neighborly atmosphere to the game. During conversations, David will share stories about his life, his failed farming experiences, and give advice that you might want to take with a grain of salt.
David may also offer small contracts or help the player get familiar with game mechanics. As of now, we know that his main role involves engaging in “small talk”—dialogues that help bring the game to life, adding comedic moments and giving the feeling of real conversation.
However, the developers haven’t yet revealed all the details about his involvement in quests and possible storylines.
Where to Find David?
Like Grandpa Walter, David lives on the familiar map of RiverBand Springs. He has a small house on the west side of the map, where you can meet him. Approach him and strike up a conversation—he’s full of interesting stories that will entertain and lift your spirits.
In the meantime, we’ll continue waiting for more exciting details about the NPCs in Farming Simulator 25. Keep an eye on the news section at ModLand.net, where we regularly post interesting updates about the game shared by the developers and the gaming community.
