The mission “Franklin and Lamar” is the second mission in Grand Theft Auto V. In this mission you are given full control over Franklin Clinton. Together with Lamar, he works for a car dealer of Armenian descent - Simon Yetaryan. The goal is to return two luxury sports cars, for which the loan was not paid. The mission is quite simple, but it has an important meaning. It introduces you to the key mechanics, vehicle controls and Franklin's abilities.

After the opening cutscene, in which Lamar and Franklin make their way to the cars, you're offered a choice of two sports cars: a white Obey 9F or a red Dewbauchee Rapid GT. If you procrastinate long enough, Lamar will get into a random one of the cars and you'll be left with the other. But this does not affect the mission.

From these cars begin to get acquainted with the possibilities of driving in GTA 5. Both cars are almost equal in characteristics.

Chasing Lamar

After the start you need to follow Lamar. Do not lag behind, so as not to lose sight of him, so as not to fail the mission.

This section of the mission demonstrates the basics of driving, drifting and maneuvering in the city.

How to proceed:

• Stay close to Lamar while keeping up.

• Use time dilation when driving. This ability is activated by a prompt on the screen (Caps Lock key on PC by default). If you want to get a gold medal, it must be activated for more than 7 seconds during the entire mission. You cannot use Franklin's special ability until the game itself shows the appropriate hint.

• When turning in the movie studio, do not shoot down the actors dressed as aliens. This is a prerequisite for completing the “We come in peace” objective.

• In the parking lot, speed up and try to overtake Lamar to complete the “Winner” objective.

Evading the Police

When Franklin and Lamar get to the construction site, the police show up. The heroes are separated and it is up to you to evade the chase on your own. The level of the manhunt is two stars.

On the map you can see clues about the location of the patrols. You can stop and wait for the cops to leave if they lose sight of you. A notification will appear on the screen when you are taken off the wanted list.

As soon as the wanted stars start flashing, look for narrow passages, yards, garages or other places where you can hide.

Return the car to the car dealership

After getting rid of the pursuit, drive to the Premium Deluxe Motorsport dealership where Franklin works. This is Simon Yetarian's office. The main thing is to deliver the car with minimal damage. That's a prerequisite for the “no scratches” goal.

If you hit something on the way, but the damage is minor, the goal may still count. But to be safe, it's better to drive carefully and use the slowdown ability.

Final mission

After the delivery of the car there will be a cut-scene in which Simon "sells" one of the sports cars to Jimmy - the son of Michael (the robber from the prologue). Franklin then gets into his white Buffalo S and heads home. It's only a few blocks from the car dealership. You will receive $250 for successfully completing the mission.

Also opening immediately after the mission are:

• Barbershops.
• Car washes.
• Robberies.
• The ability to call an airship.
• Access to Franklin's house and his garage.
• Franklin receives $500,000.
• Air stunts around the city.

Gold Medal Conditions

• To get the gold medal at the end of the mission, you must fulfill four conditions:
• Without a single scratch - deliver the car to the cabin with minimal damage.
• Attentive driver - use Franklin's special ability for at least 7 seconds.
• Winner - overtake Lamar and arrive first in the parking lot.
• We come in peace - don't run over any actors at the movie studio.
