Reconnaissance is the forty-seventh story mission of GTA V, and one of the key missions in the line of preparation for the main heist of the game. In it, for the first time after a long pause, the trio - Michael, Franklin and Trevor - reunite for a big job: an attempt to break into and rob the Federal Depository. The mission is essentially a reconnaissance mission, but there are nuances to it that will determine how successful your future heist will be. It is here that the player is first shown the scale of the facility and given a choice of robbery style, which means that every step counts.

The passage begins with the heroes gathering at Trevor's club.



This temporarily becomes their headquarters. After a short planning scene, Michael and Franklin go to the bank building in the center of Los Santos to observe the work of the collectors and understand the pattern of movement of the guards. They stay in the car and keep a close eye on the approaching armored cars. The goal is to understand how the routes work and where the unloading takes place.

As the vehicles drive away, control shifts to Trevor.



Together with Lester, he is at the airfield, where a helicopter is already prepared. It is from the air they will have to continue tracking. The main task here is to carefully follow the armored cars without losing sight of them, but also without getting too close. One of the key points of the mission is not to get a single distance warning. This is a prerequisite for getting the gold medal. The cars' track goes under a bridge and through a tunnel. In both cases, you must not just follow them, but fly exactly through these obstacles: under the bridge and inside the tunnel. Any deviation and you can't get a medal.

When the vans drive into the bank building, there is a new task.



Lester asks to find a construction site nearby, from which it will be possible to observe the object or plan the landing. Speed is of the essence here. You have only twenty seconds to fly to the site and hover over a deep hole in the ground. If you make it in time, you have all the information you need. After that all that's left is to return to the airfield and land the helicopter. The mission is over.

To get gold, it is important to keep timing and accuracy. Do not get lost in the air, stay on course and follow the van as tightly as possible. Complete everything in eleven minutes, fly through both objects and find the construction site at once - and the mission will bring maximum rewards.
