Selling cars in GTA 5 is one of the easiest ways to make money, especially if you are just starting the game and do not have access to major missions or heists.

But not everyone knows how to sell cars in the game. This guide explains in detail how the selling process goes, what restrictions may arise and how to deal with them. All you need is access to one of the Los Santos Customs shops, a suitable car and a little patience.

How to access GTA Online

To start selling cars, you need to be in GTA Online. To do this in the game, press Options (PlayStation), Menu (Xbox) or Esc (PC) and open the main menu.

On the right side of the screen, select the Online tab. Next, you need to either log into a session or create a new character if this is your first connection.

Important: On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, an active PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription will be required.

Once connected to the online mode, select a character. This is done by using the arrows on the keyboard or gamepad. To confirm your selection use X on PlayStation, A on Xbox or Enter on PC.

Finding a Los Santos Customs workshop

To sell your car you need to get to the Los Santos Customs workshop. This is a special place marked on the map with an icon of a paint can or a wrench. There are several such locations in Los Santos, and one is also located in the Harmony neighborhood.

Open the map, locate the nearest workshop location and head there with the car he plans to sell. All workshops work in the same way.

Important: if the character has active pursuit level, the gates of the workshop will not open. In this case, you must get rid of the pursuit or wait for the wanted level to drop.

Selecting a car for sale

Not all cars are accepted for sale. Mostly they are ordinary road cars that can be found on the streets.

Sports and rare cars bring more money, but elite cars bought via in-game internet or obtained in missions cannot be sold.

There is also a timer: you can sell a car only once every 48 minutes of real time (one game day).

After stealing or selecting a car from the garage, the player gets behind the wheel and drives to the workshop.

Entering the workshop and opening the menu

Upon arrival at Los Santos Customs, drive carefully up to the gate and wait for it to open automatically. After entering, the workshop will close the gate and after a few seconds the interface with the menu will appear. Control is done with the up/down arrows on the keyboard or gamepad.

If the menu doesn't appear, it's worth leaving the area and driving in again.

Sometimes the game restricts access to the sale if a similar operation has already been performed recently.

How to sell a car

When the menu opens, the player must scroll through the categories to the item Sell. This is done by using the up and down arrows.



To select the desired item:

• Press X on PlayStation
• Press A on Xbox
• Press Enter on PC

A clarification will then appear with the amount the player will receive for the car. To confirm the sale, you must press the corresponding button again: X / A / Enter.

After confirmation, the car will be sold and the money will be credited to the account. The balance is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen.
