Merchant – Become a Shopkeeper

Open your own shop, decorate it, and sell items to townspeople.

Setting up the shop

– You need a cash register and a farm building like a Shed
– Buy the cash register at Robin’s shop or get it from an event with Willy after earning 25000g
– Place the register inside a valid building and interact with it to start
– Put items for sale on furniture tables
– Items must be reachable from the entrance to be sold
– Store design affects income

Shop bonuses

– Decor score increases when using furniture, craftables like Scarecrows, Indoor Pots, Mannequins, Mini-Jukebox
– Floor score increases with rugs, paths, grass, crops, bushes
– Bonus values can be checked in the in-game decor menu

Shopkeeping

– After opening, you stand behind the register while customers enter
– Customers browse and buy items
– Haggling system starts when a customer makes an offer
– Timing affects price outcome
– Going above the target may increase offer
– You need to go below their offer to close the deal
– Up to 3 attempts per customer
– Failure ends the interaction and customer leaves
– Limited number of customers per session
– Start: 4 customers per round, increase via upgrades
– Each session costs 10 energy
– Each haggle costs 4 energy

Controls

– Action Button (Left Click, C, Gamepad A) to select haggle option
– Tool Use Button (Right Click, X, Gamepad X) to skip and accept low offer
– WASD / Left Stick to move camera
– Menu Button (E, Escape, Gamepad Y) to end session early

What you can sell

– Any item that can be placed in the shipping bin
– Modded items supported
– Sales count toward shipping and special orders

Upgrades

– Advertisement increases customer count up to 32
– Auto-Restock fills tables from nearby chests after each session

– Allow Unmet NPC Customers lets unknown NPCs visit shop
– Auto-Restock Restricted limits chests used for restocking
– Haggle Base Multiplier adjusts income from haggling
– Haggle Auto-click enables automatic clicking behavior
– Haggle Speed controls bar movement speed
– Haggle Wait sets delay after clicks
– Haggle UI Offset adjusts interface position
