History & Context
Prior to 1974, the 2002 was famous for its delicate, elegant vintage aesthetics. However, strict new Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards forced BMW to implement substantial changes specifically for the US market (USDM):
- "Impact" Bumpers: Massive, aluminum, energy-absorbing bumpers mounted on hydraulic shocks to comply with the US 5-mph bumper impact law.
- Square Taillights: Larger, rectangular taillight units replacing the iconic round ones.
- Front Grille Facelift: Modern, fully black plastic grille piece.
- Interior Updates: Refined trim revisions, improved instrumentation, and an updated dashboard layout.

Installation Instructions
For better steering options, go to the new Content Manager FFB TWEAKS and activate these settings: Basic, more physically accurate gyro implementation, additional post-processing script, additional post-processing and custom soft lock. Tweak between the settings for the best experience. Keep the default CM settings.
