History & Context
For decades, BMW’s identity was rooted in front-engine, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) sports sedans. The 2020 M235i Gran Coupe fundamentally shattered that tradition. Unlike the traditional 2 Series two-door coupes which remained RWD, the Gran Coupe was built on the BMW/Mini UKL2 front-wheel-drive architecture. It shared its core underpinnings with the Mini Cooper, BMW X1, and BMW X2 crossovers.
The engine was mounted transversely, pushing the weight bias forward and altering the car's physical proportions. To justify its M Performance badge, BMW packed the vehicle with high-output hardware: a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder pushing out 301 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive (xDrive) was standard, paired exclusively with an 8-speed Aisin automatic transmission. To minimize understeer, it included M Sport brakes and a mechanical Torsen limited-slip front differential.
Installation Instructions
Car steering set up with logitech 923, basic old content manager set up. For better steering options, go in the new content manager FFB TWEAKS and activate these settings: Basic, more physically accurate gyro implementation, additional post-processing script, additional post-processing and custom soft lock. Keep the default CM settings.
