Power/Torque Curve
The new Cadillac OHV V8 was the main news in 1949, with modest cosmetic modifications elsewhere. This 331 cu in (5.4 L) engine generated 160 horsepower (119 kW).The primary distinction between Series 61 and Series 62 cars with comparable body styles was minor trim differences. The higher- priced series once again featured grooved front fender stone shields and brilliant rocker panel moldings. Chevrons under the taillights were no longer visible. The convertible was a unique product. A heater was optional. Sales set a new high at 55,643.
