The car comes with a 5.5L naturally aspirated V8 engine, keeping with the GTE regulations. It is able to produce around 500-550 HP and approximately 480-520 lb-ft of torque. As for the transmission, the C8.R follows the layout from its base model, meaning the engine is mid-mounted, with power being delivered to the rear wheels through a sequential gearbox.
