The Ford F- 150 SVT Lightning, a performance- oriented pickup truck, was manufactured from 1999 to 2004, with the 2002 model year being famous for its supercharged 5.4L V8 engine and distinctive appearance, including a Flareside bed and special wheels.
It was intended to be a high- performance truck, with a supercharged 5.4L V8 engine, a heavy- duty gearbox, and a special suspension.

The Lightning uses a modified 4R100 4- speed automatic gearbox based on the F- 350.
