Itom 50 Astor Competizione
The iconic racing model that dominated the starting grids of the 50cc World Championship and the Isle of Man TT in 1967 was the Itom 50 Astor Competizione (also known simply as the Itom 50 Competizione or Astor Super Sport in its derivative versions).
Features
- Engine: 49.5 cc air-cooled single-cylinder 2-stroke(with light alloy crankcases).
- Transmission: 4-speed gearbox (with left-side foot-operated selector).
- Power: ~9 to 11 CV at 12,000–13,000 RPM (with modified cylinder and Dell'Orto SSI carburetor).
- Top Speed: 135–140 km/h (with full fairing tuned for long straights).
- Dry weight: Just 52–55 kg, which gave it tremendous agility when cornering compared to heavier motorcycles.
