Tohatsu 50cc (1967)
A 50cc racing motorcycle from the Japanese brand Tohatsu, which in the early 1960s used racing as a showcase for its lightweight two-stroke motorcycles.
It is based on a 49 cc single-cylinder engine with piston intake, derived from the Runpet Sport model, which the manufacturer also offered to private racers.
After Tohatsu went bankrupt in 1964, it stopped manufacturing motorcycles, but its machines continued to race in the hands of privateers, especially in the United Kingdom, where the Simmonds brothers made it famous.
At the 1967 TT, it was ridden by Allen Hutchings, who retired on the second lap.
