Description
The Supra is powered by two BMW-sourced engine options: a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four or a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF 8HP 8-speed automatic transmission.
Features
- 2.0-litre engine: variable power outputs of 145–190 kW (194–255 hp) and 320–400 N⋅m of torque.
- 3.0-litre engine: power output of 250–285 kW (335–382 hp) and 495–500 N⋅m of torque.
- Performance: 3.0 L model can accelerate from 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) in 3.9–4.1 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 249 km/h (155 mph).
- Practicality: Fairly-sized 290-liter trunk with a liftback hatch.
- Engineering: Jointly-developed B58 engine, thoroughly reworked by Toyota for reliability, featuring a closed-deck design and mechanical water pump.
