Description
The Volkswagen Golf became the standard to which all other economic hatchbacks were measured when it made its debut in 1974. The fifth generation, codenamed Typ 1K, appeared in 2004 and is a compact car manufactured by Volkswagen as the successor to the Golf Mk4. Using the Volkswagen Group A5 (PQ35) platform, it is available in three- or five-door hatchback and five-door station wagon configurations.

- GTI Model: Features a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline 4-cylinder petrol engine with Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) producing 197 bhp, highlighted by a honeycomb mesh grille, 18-in. wheels, and a rear roof wing.
- TSI Twincharger: Uses a combination of a supercharger for low-end pumping efficiency and a turbocharger for high-rev fuel efficiency.
- Improved Design: Increased cargo volume and revised suspension/chassis tuning compared to the previous model.
