At SimRacing Expo 2025, the team of Kunos Simulazioni announced a new franchise Assetto Corsa Rally, as well as the upcoming update AC Evo 0.4.
But the developers also shared their achievement, saying that the number of players in the Assetto Corsa franchise has reached 20 million players. Recall that the first part of the game was won in far 2013 and to this day is very confident holding the attention of such a huge number of players around the world.
The Executive Director of Kunos Simulazioni Marco Maseruto in his report quite detailed about the new achievement of the franchise:
Since the release of EVO in January last year, the number of unique players in the Assetto Corsa franchise has exceeded 20 million. This is an impressive result. Until recently, many considered the Assetto Corsa a realistic simulation for a narrow audience of enthusiasts, but now it is clear that the project has gone far beyond the «niche» product and became a truly mass phenomenon.
This achievement was made possible not only by excellent physics, graphics, sound, gameplay or the support of modifications. The success of Assetto Corsa is the result of a harmonious combination of all these elements. But the main thing is a strong link between the developers and the racing community. We have built a relationship based on mutual respect and trust, and this cooperation has been the foundation of our progress.
At the moment, the last finished part of the series is the Assetto Corsa Evo, which is still in the early access stage. In addition, without waiting for the full release of AC Evo, the studio announced the release of the new Assetto Corsa Rally, which will also initially be released in early access. The release is scheduled for November 13 and will be developed by Supernova Games Studio. The game will be developed on Unreal Engine 5, already confirmed 10 cars and 4 special racing areas.
As for the fourth update of the Assetto Corsa Evo, it is due to be launched in November. It will include 9 new cars, 3 tracks and minor upgrades and improvements.
So, given such impressive numbers of unique players, the racing franchise is very successful to keep afloat and obviously further games will only increase this figure.
