The Santa Monica Mountains track mod for Assetto Corsa is an extensive recreation of one of the most beautiful scenic drives located in Southern California. Players can experience virtual driving in the detailed and realistic representation of this mountain road, circling through canyons and providing breathtaking ocean views. The mod is characterized by its sharp turns, high-speed straights, and challenging curves, making it an excellent choice for those wanting to test their driving skills. Its high-resolution track surfaces and detailed scenery ensure an immersive experience for the players.







Features:

• Players can choose from six unique spawn points, each containing a varying amount of pit stops. However, only select locations offer AI functionality.
• There are two operational Racing AI paths, with a third in a semi-functional state. The first course winds through Mulholland Hwy, culminating at The Snake, while the second course ascends from Stunt Road to Piuma Road. The third track begins at the base of Tuna Canyon, but in version 0.2, the AI performance is erratic, leading to frequent crashes.
• An in-game track map is provided alongside a recommended racing line for the two working Racing AI routes.
• For a more immersive experience, two-way AI traffic is available for free-roaming, with three different points for initiating encounters, each supplying 24 pit stops. This AI traffic circles an 11-mile stretch of road (covering Stunt, Schueren, and Piuma Roads), but the full 21-mile map is open for exploration either in single-player or through online multiplayer. Note that the two-way traffic system is prone to glitches and must be used in conjunction with the CSP AI Behavior enhancement.

Requirements / Recommendations

• Custom Shader Patch with GrassFX enabled

• Custom Shader Patch with New AI Behavior. "AI Flood" and "Get back to race after pitting" MUST be enabled for the Freeroam modes. Two-Way traffic WON'T work without this.

• Recommend Sol Weather with "Haze" preset for the most true-to-life visual experience. The time of day in my videos and screenshots is 13:30 and I'm using the standard Sol PP filter.

Driving Modes
There are multiple driving modes to choose from. Always Content Manager to make your driving selections, and PLEASE NOTE that the Freeroam Two-Way AI traffic absolutely requires the CSP New AI Behavior settings noted above.

• A - Race Stunt -- Racing AI line for use in Race, Hotlap and Track Day modes. 24 pit box. Runs up Stunt, across Schueren, and down Piuma. Timing beacons included.
• B - Race The Snake -- Racing AI line for use in Race, Hotlap and Track Day modes . 24 pit box. Runs along Mulholland Hwy and up The Snake. Timing beacons included.
• C - Freeroam -- Two-Way AI traffic spawning at the bottom of Stunt Road, 24 pit box.
• D - Freeroam -- Two-Way AI traffic spawning at the David M Brown Overlook, 24 pit box.
• E - Freeroam -- Two-Way AI traffic spawning at the Lois Ewen Overlook, 24 pit box.
• F - Freeroam -- NO AI, but spawn point at the peak of The Snake Carspot, 24 pit box.
• G - Freeroam -- NO AI, spawn at the bottom of Las Flores Canyon
• H - Race -- AI available (BUT NOT RECOMMENDED AT THIS TIME) with 14 pit boxes at the bottom of Tuna Canyon, a hill climb run up to Lois Ewen Overlook.

Known Issues

• AI on Tuna Canyon is not reliable. They cut the corners and flip themselves over.
• The Snake has not had any changes made to it for this release. Some photogrammetry issues still exist.
• AI is buggy. They might crash, they might lose a wheel, and they might stop in the middle of the road! I've had many successful runs with them, but your mileage may vary.
