Changelog

latest Version v1.1.1b · BeamNG.drive 0.38.x 2 months ago

Quick fixes and small additions.

Hello again!

After the release of 1.1.0, there were a number of things you guys pointed out which were either broken or missing from the update. I'm releasing 1.1.1 to address these issues, as well as adding or changing a few additional things.

The changelog is as follows:

  • Changed the way the slots are ordered for the front undertray, as well as moving the front arch trim to the undertray, to make fitting the bullbar much more foolproof. This means that the undertray can now only be equipped from the front bumper, not the frame.
  • Added equippable cargo box loads to the Utility Package and regular boot (without third row), with 3x Large for one and 2x Large + 2x Medium for the other.
  • Added the X340TD and L340TD, both serving as diesel versions of their _410T counterparts.
  • Altered the wingmirror models slightly so they no longer have a white outline on some maps.
  • Added a panel filler for the rear window to allow the Centauri's Utility Package to make a complete van. This has a skin UV assigned to it which is located on the right of the rear bumper.
  • Altered bumper normals to remove an issue with a trim piece on the front.
  • Added sounds back to the bonnet.
  • Added painted versions of the cut arch trim.
  • Fixed the ignition trigger on all LHD vehicles.
  • Changed the RPM gauge on the Mountain Rescue and Polizia configs to the correct diesel option.
  • Strengthened OEM suspension components.
  • Added "Wreath Emerald Neo" to the colour selection.
  • Added brake glow to all brake types.
  • Fixed an issue where the loads on the roof rails would clip slightly, causing stability issues.
If you read this far, thankyou, and I hope you enjoy the update.

Comprehensive Refresh

Hello everyone!

After giving this car some much needed TLC in the last few weeks, I felt it was ready for an update.
1.1.0 brings a grand total of 30 changelog entries, with many completely redone aspects, visual improvements, additions of features from previous game updates, reworks of functionality like the sunrooves, boot and auto start/stop, and much more.

Here's the full changelog:

- Completely remade the functionality of the openable boot, making use of couplers and changing the positions of the hydraulics on the upper half to be more realistic. This also comes with a significantly more rigid upper hinge, as well as separate triggers for the upper and lower sections. The lower section has also been mostly re-jbeamed with new node positions and limiters to ensure it's not relying on the bumper to stop in the rare event where the winch isn't there to hold it. It also can't operate without the upper boot being open.

- Completely reworked models, textures and glowmap for the U-Series' headlights to much better reflect reference material.

- Re-jbeamed sunroof and panoramic sunroof using a combination of rails and hydros rather than just hydros.

- Added triggers for sunroof functionality to the interior and removed the keybind controls.

Note: I would have added visible switchgear for this but it would have looked tacked on no matter what I tried. The triggers have been placed where the switches would realistically be though.

- Added support for 0.31's physical mirrors to all mirrors. This means you can now see the Centauri in its own mirrors' reflections, alongside them now being more useful as their positions now match the mirrors they're assigned to.

- Added electronically folding wingmirror functionality. These can be actuated using a trigger on the driver's door (changes based on choice of hand drive).

- Added an animated shifter to both hand drives, using intermediate positions to make it look "notchy" as it should.

- Note: This, surprisingly, didn't necessitate any changes to the model at all- this may be due to how much more conservative on polycount I was back when I made the interior for this car.

- Added smooth lights to applicable parts of the car, including headlights and daytime running lights. These all use "temporal" rather than "temporalNonLinear" to make them look artificial, as this car's market position means all lights are LED and not halogen.
- Note: Many lights throughout the car still instantly turn on and off. This is also due to the car's market position causing all lights to be LED and not a cheaper option which would fade.

- Reworked functionality of the Auto Start/Stop system. This uses entirely new code, all made by Zeit with his current standards, and should work much more realistically.

- Adjusted and changed the way the openable doors work, ensuring they won't open in a normal crash anymore.

- Note: This uses Avior code as a reference.

Remade panel edge bevel normals on main texture and bumpers, as the old ones were low-resolution and made the entire car look worse for it.

- Remade roof ridge normals and rear "Centauri" text for the same reasons as above.

- Added new, baked bevel normals to all OEM wheel options, as well as reducing roughness of diamond cut sections of ζ and β wheels to make them shinier.

- Added interior collisions up to the back of the front seats so objects can now be placed inside the car. This also applies to the U340TD Utility Package's boot space, finally making it useful as a van, and adjusting weight and crash behaviour due to the new nodes added to make this possible.

- Re-added the trigger for the ignition button, now using the spherical trigger model.

- Adjusted the Japanese Police skin to transfer the text on the doors to the rear of the car, as the original differing text was unrealistic.

- Made the palette map of the "Brawler" skin work, as well as making "Crash Test Decals" available in the part selector and making the "UK Police" livery colourable underneath the decals.

- Changed tire values on all "Standard" and "Sport" tires to be closer to those on the Avior to improve handling and grip on corners to a realistic level for a modern car.

- Stiffened sport anti-roll bars.

Note: The S410T and S520T still roll a lot, and after some testing I'm thinking this is just an inevitable part of it being a 2.8T SUV and not an actual sports car. The new tire values should help its case here though I hope.

- Reduced volume of the electronic handbrake.

- Added a second boot trigger to the spare wheel.

- Added changeable switchgear on front door cards to allow for hand drive variation (change these to alter the position of the mirror fold trigger).

- Adjusted sound configuration for the 3.5L V6, as well as altering the way drive modes alter exhaust volume. This should mean the mixing stays the same but the engine gets louder (in modes like Sport+) as intended.

- Added a Silver variant to the 20x8 ζ Centauri wheels.

- Added a Diamond Cut variant to the 17x7 ε Centauri wheels.

Note: This was actually done a long while ago, but it was still after 1.0.8 was released, so it's technically new for this update.

- Added a trigger to allow operation of the third row without the keybind.
Note: The third row functionality still needs work as, much like the sunrooves prior to this update, it doesn't make use of rails at all. This should have been addressed in this update but I wanted to get back to my main project so I decided to leave it be, as it isn't broken.

- Rear US Numberplate rotated 180° so the correct face is shown.

- Adjusted spring value on all brake types to make sudden braking more stable.

- Redone thumbnails to match 0.38's lighting, as well as changing a few configs' specs and adding a livery to the U340TD HT38.

- Added 5-lug hubs as an option.

Thanks so much for reading this far if you did, and be sure to enjoy the update.

0.29 fixes and various other bits.

This update adresses 0.29 bugs and previous bugs that I hadn't fixed already.
Here's the changelog:
- Perseverance offroad tires remade to work with the new models and textures that BeamNG added in secret.
- L520T Nebula Edition and L520T air shocks added back to the configs- I promise the system wasn't broken.
- Adjustments made to the way auto start-stop works, making it a lot smoother, alongside other various changes and updates to @DaddelZeit's lua.
- Other edits and fixes I may have forgotten about.

Thanks for reading if you did, and remember to clear cache if you encounter any issues.

0.28 Adjustments

This update adresses improvements made in 0.28, so is very small, but I didn't want to make you guys wait for it.
Here's the changelog:
- All screens made shiny, which was not possible before due to a base colour bug not allowing for PBR screens.
- Interior muffling dramatically increased.
- Minor roughness changes to various materials.

Thanks for reading if you did, and remember to clear cache if you encounter any issues.

Various edits and improvements from the last few months.

As I’ve been working on a new car for a few months, this update may not be quite as fleshed-out as some may come to expect from such a large time gap, but I promise I’ve been addressing bugs and adding the occasional thing over that time.
For those hoping for some major update with loads of aftermarket bits and a few more configs, that will come at some point, but I've got another car going at the moment and would like to stay focussed on that. Sorry for testing you lot's patience with that.

The changelog;
- New colour for the 17x7 ε Centauri wheels; Diamond Cut!
- Loads and loads of optimisations to the JBeam and models, including the merge of all rear suspension parts into 1 file, and reduction in the polycount of the seats.
- Major edits to force feedback, giving progressive feedback based on speed. (Settings from @ClassicMike)
- Bug fixed where the ESC mode selector and rangebox controller wouldn’t show up.
- Rear suspension softened, along with adaptive anti-roll bars on both ends, ranging from completely disabled to hard.
- All S-Series models lowered.
- Lua file edits and changes by @DaddelZeit
- New starter samples for all engines.
- Adjustments to roughness and bloom levels of various textures.
- New thumbnails.
- There's likely a few more small things I've done that I can't quite recall.

0.27.1 Compatibility Update

Over the last week, since 0.27 released, I've been working on edits and fixes for this car to work better with the update, among other things.
The car is now at the very bottom of the list due to the new order of the vehicle selector

Here's a list of the stuff I've done:
- The U340TD HT36... sorry 38 has been retuned and improved! It should now be able to battle Johnson Valley with much more success due to it's lower pressure, bigger tires and softer suspension.
- The car now has an ESC controller in the interior, found just infront of the cupholders.
- Metallic and roughness adjusted for every official colour.
- Roughness adjusted for all interior colours.
- Appropriate bloom added for all lights, with significant adjustments to glow textures to accommodate.
- All engines quietened.
- Interior triggers added for the hazard lights, High/Low gear and ESC modes.
- Interior trigger removed for the engine start/stop button until i figure out how to fix it.
- Lua edits to certain files by @DaddelZeit
- New, shinier thumbnails.

New headlights among some smaller fixes.

Here's another very small update to start the week!
This definitely isn't two weeks' worth of bug fixing, changes or features, as I haven't been able to prioritise the Centauri lately, but I just thought I'd give you all what I do have.

By the way, I can't express how grateful I am with the feature! This mod's performance has far FAR exceeded my expectations and none of it would have happened without you guys, so thankyou so so much!

The update includes:
- New and much more realistic headlight cookies and subsequent adjustments by @Bryan139746825.
- Lua file fixes and changes by @DaddelZeit.
- Other small fixes and edits along the way.

Thanks for reading, and always remember to clear cache! If you find any bugs, put them in the bug reporting thread.

More bug fixing and new engine sounds.

Here's a small update for the start of the week, to address the bugs listed below and one or two new things:
- New engine sounds for Petrol V6 and Petrol V8 by @Kueso due to complaints about them being too similar to one another.
- Glowmaps fixed for Italian and German police light bars.
- info.json files edited for all Police configs, fixing the issue where they wouldn't behave like police cars.
- Bug fixed where the Centauri would always behave like a police vehicle even if it was a factory config.
- Rear coilovers softened on all configs.
- Sport front brake cooling improved dramatically.
- Auto start-stop is now enabled by default. (by @DaddelZeit )

Thanks for 50,000 downloads within the first week, remember to clear cache and enjoy!
I'm beginning my potential next vehicle now so features and big fixing may slow down a little for this, but I promise I'll try to stay on top of it to the best of my ability.

Bug fixing according to the reports.

Hello again everyone! Thanks so much for such a successful release, it's been great and I'm so happy with how it went. This update is just to adress some bugs reported in the thread, with some highlights being;
- Mudflaps removed as they were unfinished and behaved strangely.
- All skins should work now.
- 8-Speed transmissions now work with the gear indicator.
- Model fixes to the front side grilles for the X-series and U-Series.
- Changes to behaviour of auto start-stop.(by @DaddelZeit )
- The third row is now compatible with the Captains' Chairs.
- Tire alignment fixed for all 22x8 wheels.
- Collision triangles flipped on the right hand side Side skirt with Running Boards.
- Pedals moved to the body jbeam group for all RHD parts.

Enjoy, and remember to clear cache!

Some final pre-release fixing.

This update just adds some fps friendly optional lower quality seats.
