AW Goal — European Budget Car from the 90s

The AW Goal was introduced in 1990. It was as dull as an autumn evening, but offered a wide range of trims. Starting from a 1.4 SOHC engine, moving through 1.8 and 2.0, up to the 2.8 VR6 designed for performance and speed.
Two diesel options were also available: 1.6 and 1.9, including the extremely durable yet very slow TDI engine.

During the 90s, special budget editions were popular — and Goal followed the trend. Special trims like Amsterdam, Ecuador, Poland, Romania, and Deutsch stood out among other cars.

The Goal came in 3 body styles: a 5-door hatchback, a 3-door hatchback, and a sedan named “Jento.”
