Roadside America is an early project inspired by the atmospheric landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. This version represents the first steps in capturing the spirit of driving through Oregon and Northern Idaho.The terrain is shaped using real heightmap data from Smith River Rd, Nestucca River Rd, and U.S. Route 12 along the Lochsa River. However, this is an artistic interpretation rather than a 1:1 replica. I have slightly adjusted the scale of the landscape and followed the general flow of the rivers and roads, but please keep in mind that buildings, bridges, and other details are fictional and do not match the real-life locations.
Technical Feature (Experimental):
To maintain the dense forests characteristic of the Pacific Northwest on a large map without crashing the game engine due to high RAM usage, I have implemented a custom experimental Lua script. This script dynamically moves forest items along with the camera.
Warning: This system is unstable as it uses the forest editor's movement function in real-time. Expect some glitches or visual bugs during this Alpha stage.
Try using vertical sync.

- Authentic Foundation: Terrain based on actual Pacific Northwest topography.
- Scenic Routes: 64 km of winding roads following riverbanks, great for cruising even in this early stage.
