Custom Tachometers and Boost Gauges v3.2.1
Updates
In version 3.2.1:
This update adds the ability to show or hide gear shift hints.
Gear shift hints will now only appear right before the car reaches the redline, and this behavior is the same for all vehicles. For some cars, this works quite well, but for others, it’s not very useful since the optimal shift point may be well before the redline.
My initial goal was to improve the gear shift hints to address this issue.
After quite a bit of research, it turned out that BeamNG has many different sources for obtaining gear and engine RPM data.
Unfortunately, none of them are suitable for this case, and they all contradict each other 🤷♂️.
For now, the gear shift hints will remain as they are, but you can choose to hide them if you wish.
Further improvements may come in the future :).
There are a total of three app themes called Velocity, Fusion and Ringularity.
There are a number of color schemes you can choose from, the default is the BeamNG style and you can switch between them by right clicking on the apps. There are also transparent versions for each color scheme. The apps are all independent of each other, so you can have different color schemes for the respective forced induction and tachometer apps if you want. The color scheme you choose then also becomes the default color scheme for you the next time you start up.
Left-clicking on the applications switches the units of measurement (mph, km/h, inches Hg, etc.).
In version 3.1.0:
Bug fixes:
- Loading is now more consistent.
Previously, each application had an allotted time to see if BeamNG was responding with streaming data before giving up completely. This caused issues where the game would pause for a while when vehicles etc appeared, often leading to instances where no app would load. Now each app waits for BeamNG to send the first thread and continues from there.
- Updating the UI (or double-pressing ESC will attempt a reboot if it was a bad time)
- Visual artifacts could be seen when resizing any of the apps. This has now been fixed.
- The gear font size now matches the length of the gear name. Previously, gear names longer than two characters (typically 10+ manual gearbox or any propeller/airplane using % values) would extend beyond their “visual” area. The gear font size will be reduced (if necessary) to try to stay where it should visually do so.
- A side effect of the codebase redesign is that it is now an order of magnitude easier to create new themes, however that is not my intention right now as I am happy with where this mod is - although it does leave the door open for future development :).

it's stupid to just copy posts from Gtmods. This mod can be downloaded on the official forum. https://www.beamng.com/resources/custom-tachometers-and-boost-gauges.17398
