Hi friends!
I finally managed to create a new engine control logic, so heres an update! :)
As planned, I've added throttle control via holding a key — meaning, if you hold W, the engine revs up; if you release it, the RPM drops. (Throttle Handle Power Control)
The standard throttle control (set a constant percentage of thrust) is still available too.
Check out the new control keys.
This is a change I’ve been planning to implement for a long time, and I finally pulled it off.
Personally, I play using a keyboard — and for me, this control method is ideal.
Thanks to quick throttle response with a single button, a whole new world of maneuvers becomes possible :)
It’s definitely fun!
In the next update, I’ll finally add the Monster livery (I think itll give the plane a more aggressive look), and maybe a couple of liveries of legendary RB pilots.
Have a great flight and awesome turns! :)
Updated Controls:
W – Throttle (Hold to increase, release to decrease)
T – Throttle Increase (Standard mode)
G – Throttle Decrease (Standard mode)
A – Rudder Left
D – Rudder Right
→ (Right Arrow) – Aileron Right
← (Left Arrow) – Aileron Left
↑ (Up Arrow) – Elevator Down
↓ (Down Arrow) – Elevator Up
B – Toggle Smoke System
Home – Trim Up
End – Trim Down
Delete – Toggle Trim Mode
P.S.: Are you going to post this under your name too, Antonkrd1?

Hi friends!
Please don’t judge too harshly – I’m a bit of a noob when it comes to modding and creating content. This is actually my very first mod! :)
From time to time, mostly for my own fun and gameplay needs, I tweak or build upon maps, vehicles, or scripts that you’ve created. And now, I’ve finally decided to upload and share one of those – a long-ago reworked version of my favorite plane. (Link to the original author: https://www.beamng.com/resources/strato-hmx-920-aerobatic-aircraft.39/)
If I’m not mistaken, the original mod is based on the Zivko Edge 540, a plane known for its amazing aerobatic performance in Red Bull Air Race events. So I thought – why not have something like that in the game?
Even though I put together the skin a bit clumsily (Photoshop, sorry! š), I also added some new parts to improve the plane’s maneuverability. I replaced the engine sound with one that, in my opinion, sounds the most like the Lycoming IO-540 during gameplay.
The mod is far from perfect – it still carries some known bugs from the original, like the overly “wobbly” fuselage, and after a crash, the engine sound sometimes stays at the crash site instead of following the plane.
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to fix these issues (or when), but honestly – they don’t ruin the flying experience for me. Hopefully, they won’t for you either!
Updated controls:
A – Rudder Left
B – Toggle Smoke System
Right Arrow – Aileron Right
S – Throttle Decrease
D – Rudder Right
Up Arrow – Elevator Down
Left Arrow – Aileron Left
W – Throttle Increase
Down Arrow – Elevator Up
Home – Trim Up
End – Trim Down
Delete – Toggle Trim Mode
Wishing you awesome flight stunts and smooth skies!

if your engine wont start to fix it you go in vehicle options and change the prop from "race prop" to "prop" and for me that fixed the issue
How does the engine start??
@ricardjio How can i start the engine? it is an wonderful plane, but when i hold the ignition, nothing happens.Ā
@pasi The engine startup issue has migrated from the original aircraft (along with the engine sound, which remains at the site of the last crash) ā unfortunately, I havenāt fixed this yet.
If you manually stop the propeller with the mouse while the engine is running, it will cause an error, which can be fixed by respawning the vehicle, for example.
That said, I personally see two possible causes of the problem:
A mod conflict ā in this case, I wonāt be able to help, since I have no idea which mods you have installed.
A simple game setting ā in your game settings, thereās an option to spawn vehicles either with the engine off or running. So if that's the case, just choose to spawn with the engine running, and the issue should go away.
...It's possible that something changed in the latest game update (I havenāt checked), and at this point, it might be a mod issue. If thatās the case ā youāre absolutely right. Iāll fix it as soon as possible, so thank you for the feedback! :)
The last time I tested this was on version 36.2.
If you donāt mind, please let me know which game version youāre using (this applies to everyone who has encountered the issue with the engine not starting on spawn).
Of course, this is assuming the game is properly configured to spawn with the engine running.
does it work i didnt download just yes????

This looks awesome, Can you add in combined controls to use with a flight stick? there is a comment in here about the BELL 407 that has the combined controlls im trying to talk about. would be heaps of fun being able to use a stick on this one but im sure to get it working you need to have the combined controlls. (pitch, yaw + throttle)
@Angry Mod guy I use logitech x56 hotas with this no problem
@Angry Mod guy Oh, Iām not even sure if thatās really possible for me, my friend ā I donāt have a joystick, so testing the new control logic would be, to put it mildly, a bit tricky :) Maybe you could take a look yourself first ā go to the mod folder at this path: \Stratohmx-RB\vehicles\aerobatic\inputmaps ā and look for the files named 076206a3 and xidevice (these are the files responsible for input devices). Try opening one or both of them with a text editor and see if you can set up the necessary keys or binds.
+ I think using just one joystick for control is, well⦠a bit too arcade-like for Beamng. Even the simplest real aircraft ā like a light single-engine Cessna ā involves rudder pedals, elevator/aileron controls, and a throttle lever. Definitely not something you'd control with just a single stick :)
Link is not working, bro :(
@Hoonagon Thanks, I know. I updated the mod on the site twice (forgot to include some fixes for compatibility with the standard engine control model). And after the second update, it STILL Ā hasnāt passed moderation.
I love this thing the simple control w a s d unlike others that do tgfh or tg,. and very easy to fly love this plane
Could you possibly make a Rob Holland livery?
@ricardjio ok, thanks for clearing that up!
@yep To be honest, Iām not a big fan of Rob Hollandās aircraft design. However, Iāve been toying with the idea of a āMonsterā version, along with liveries inspired by well-known Red Bull pilots ā in that case, Rob Holland could be included too.
Iām not sure when (or if) Iāll get around to actually making them. Like I mentioned earlier, I mainly create these mods for personal use in-game. If something turns out good enough, Iām happy to share it with the community.
That said, this is still a free mod for another mod, which doesnāt exactly motivate me to sink hours into it. As Iāve said ā Iām still a newbie at this. Iāve been making liveries in Photoshop instead of Blender, which I know isnāt the proper way to do it. Spending all that time at the PC... for what, really?
Still, if your comment gets echoed by others ā with more design/art suggestions ā and if I manage to implement a new engine logic (thinking about car-style throttle control: hold to increase RPM, release to decrease), Iād be happy to work on it.
the best thing i ever flown the best beamng drive plane mod (most fun)
Does this work in the new update (0.36) bc for me the orginal strato doesnt work?
@BlueTrain05 I haven't tested it on 0.36 yet, but the standard Strato indeed didn't work on 0.35 (I fixed that before uploading the mod), so theoretically it should work on the latest version of the game. I don't think there were any major ('global') changes in the game.
this is excellent. Please do more flying stuff! RB livery for the bell 407 would be sick also
