@SOHNOH, thanks for your suggestion, I have tried this again and for what ever reason it now seems to just stop at the end of the field. Perhaps its something to do with the map, so for now I have given up, but thanks anyway.

@AB Farms - may I suggest doing the outter first cut of the field yourself, then - hire a worker to cut in the rest. also it does make a difference at which entry spot of the field, the hired helper enters - that can determine a wrong turn in direction at the end of the row from the hired helper. Me? I like turning the dirt myself - I only hire workers as an extention to other jobs I need done while i'm Turning The Dirt. of course one could hire workers and play with smartphone text at the same time - and never actually play the game. I suppose. (walks away laughing) SMH
