The Farming Simulator 19 comes with a much more improved GIANTS Engine, and the changes it has led to with respect to the overall gameplay is beyond impressive. A special focus has been put on what’s termed as post-processing.
Some of the major changes include:
- High Dynamic Range Rendering: An advanced technology that has greatly enhanced the graphics by displaying a huge range of colors at the same time, which was not possible before
- Bloom: A small but significant addition, that paves the way for a much more realistic light irradiation
- SSAO and the new Light Scattering Technology: These both features combined make the objects in the game cast shadows that are surprisingly realistic
- A transformed look for the sun and the clouds: The FS 19 comes with a sun that’s not another graphic element anymore, but an actually functional light source in the sky that has also turned dynamic. Similarly, the clouds have been made a voxel-based 3D object, which reflect light just like the real ones do!
- The surface textures have got some attention as well, with they now being both more realistic and responsive, reacting to the changing conditions in the game
Of course, not everyone is going to understand every bit of the technical jargon we explained above, so we also have a couple screenshots with sliders right below this post that allows you to actually “feel” all the differences we discussed above.
To make sure the comparison gives you a good idea of the changes, Farming Simulator took these screenshots at the same time, same day, with the place obviously being the same as well.
However, they have added to the details they released that the Farming Simulator 19 is still in a very early phase of its beta, so things may be a bit different than how they look now, with the possibility of new changes to be added as well.
