Will Farming Simulator 22 Have Crossplay?
Crossplay is one of those features that has made its way onto gaming slowly but has been gaining in popularity for a long time. We have always found an instance where we desperately want to share our gaming experience with a friend, only to find out that they are playing the same game on a different platform. There used to be not a lot to do to remedy this problem, except for maybe having one of you switch to a different platform. That is not much of a solution at all, though, and therefore, developers have been aware of this for many years. The thing is, there are a lot of technical difficulties when it comes to pulling this trick off. And not just technical hurdles, but also the fact that gameplay may be a bit different (or a lot different) on consoles than it is on PC, for example. Take the case of Call of Duty: balancing players at 240 FPS with a mouse and keyboard and consoles running at 60 FPS on a controller is no easy task. Solving those issues took a lot of developer effort.
The good news is that, for the most part, the issues have been resolved. The technical side is finally up to the challenge of providing a joint experience between console and pc players. That brings us to fs22 crossplay. In theory, there should not be much of a problem in terms of bridging different console and PC gaming experiences, the gameplay itself does not change too much between one version and the next, and the great thing is, you can pretty much achieve the same things in one version as in the other, too. It comes down to a matter of development resources and infrastructure. If the devs can cram this feature during development then we will surely see it in the retail version. There are no official statements regarding crossplay at this time, but we will stay on top of the subject and communicate any news as soon as we have them, so make sure you stay tuned and check the site regularly!
