Cops & Crooks Content Slowly Returns to GTA Online
Rockstar Games was planning a major update dedicated to the confrontation between police and criminals back in 2020. Then the content was almost ready for release. But due to public pressure and the political climate, the studio scrapped the project.
But fans and datamayners continue to find traces of these developments in new updates of GTA Online, pointing to the gradual “return” of the cut DLC.
Already several recent DLCs have included new models of police cars. Particular attention was drawn to the appearance of the Police Buffalo STX, which was based on the popular civilian version, but supplemented with patrol coloring, light signals, police radio and even a gun box in the trunk.
Mentions of other vehicles are also found. The Police Batty, a service motorcycle based on the speedy Batty 801, and the mysterious Zoku, which may turn out to be a Japanese patrol car.
It looks like Rockstar isn't going to give up on this idea completely. For several major updates in a row, police vehicles have been added to the game, while the code continues to find references to uniforms, missions, and specialized items clearly prepared for a full-fledged cop theme.
Officer clothing pending

Particular attention from fans has been drawn to leaks regarding police suits that are still not available in the game. According to analysts and dataminers, these items are being prepared for release closer to the finale of the current “drip-feed”.
These costumes have been discovered in game files and will most likely be released closer to the end of the current drip-feed cycle. Likely along with a new batch of missions or police-themed events.
Amidst the silence from Rockstar, the community isn't slumbering. One of the YouTube channel's contributors, MouMoud_RPF, has recreated Jason's house from the GTA 6 trailer in GTA 5. He added not only the exterior appearance, but also the interior, as close as possible to the original. The project is not yet banned by Take-Two's lawyers, and the author plans to put it in the public domain in the future.
Everything indicates that the elements of Cops and Crooks DLC are gradually coming out. Perhaps, we are waiting for one of the most “role-playing” updates in the history of GTA Online.
