Buddycards

A fun mod that adds collectible Buddycards you can find throughout your world.

You can find Buddycard Packs in different vanilla loot chests, as well as from other sources like Piglin bartering, boss drops, or a small chance when killing specific mobs.

When you collect three duplicate cards, you can combine them with leather to craft a storage binder, or with an Ender Eye to create an Ender binder.

The core Buddycards mod includes three sets, each based on a different dimension. If you gather enough extra cards, you can combine cards with iron and lapis to craft Buddysteel. Buddysteel is used to create Buddysteel Medals, grading sleeves, and a Buddysteel power meter.

Medals can be empowered using a completed card set and worn as a Curio for permanent potion effects depending on the set.

For an extra challenge, use grading sleeves and golden grading sleeves to evaluate card quality, ranging from low F grade cards to rare S grade cards.

Current state of the mod
– 1.20.1 is available, with no plans to switch versions soon

– Will you add a backport to older versions
Right now only 1.18.1 receives major support, and 1.16.5 still gets minor updates and patches until it is phased out. Older versions are not supported, and 1.17 versions are no longer considered

– Can I add this mod to my modpack
Yes, Buddycards is allowed in all modpacks unless stated otherwise

– Will you add a way to create custom sets and cards
Not through datapacks. The resources exist for modders to add sets inside their own mods. Support for specific mods is preferred

– I am crashing due to DEFAULT_MEDAL_PROPERTIES, your mod is broken
This comes from expansion mods using an outdated Buddycards version. Report it to the expansion mod developers, not the Buddycards author
