Best Companion Mobs in Minecraft Explained!
Pets are real helpers and faithful companions in survival in Minecraft.
There are many tame and semi-tame mobs in the game. Let's take a look at some of them and learn how to use and interact with each of them.
Cats. Adorable hunters and protectors

Cats are one of the most popular pets in Minecraft. And for good reason! To tame a cat, head to a village where you can find wild specimens. Stock up on raw cod or salmon from fishing or from killed fish. Approach the cat, sneaking around with the fish in your hand, and give it the food.
Sometimes the cat is tamed the first time, but more often it takes several attempts. Once tamed, you can change the color of the collar with any dye. There are 11 different varieties of cats available in the game, including a special “Jelly Cat”, inspired by the real pet of a popular youtuber.
Cats are useful for more than just their looks. At night, they can hunt and bring back useful items including rabbit skin, meat, feathers, and even the rare phantom membrane. In addition, cats scare away phantoms and creepers. Therefore, they can become excellent guards for your base.
Wolves. Reliable defenders and loyal allies

Wolves are another popular choice among pets. They live in forests, taiga and snowy taiga. In the wild, they are neutral mobs, but if you hit them, they become aggressive. To tame a wolf you need to give it dice - after a few tries it will become your ally, get a collar and start following you.
Tame wolves will attack anyone who harms you. You can use them to fight off skeletons, zombies and other hostile mobs.
Wolves can be bred by giving them any raw meat, and the resulting pups will already be tamed.
Also by the position of the wolf's tail you can determine its health level. If the tail is down, it means that the pet is injured and needs to be treated with meat. You can tame one wolf, or you can create a whole pack and make them a real army to protect you and your lands.
Foxes. Secretive and unusual companions

Foxes appear in the taiga and snowy taiga. Adult foxes are timid and run away when the player approaches. But if you feed berries to two foxes, they will produce a cub that will not fear the player from birth.
While you can't fully tame a fox, trusting the cub makes it practically a pet.
A leash can also be used to keep the fox close. This is especially useful for adults because they are very fond of running away. Foxes can also hold objects in their teeth and use them.
Rabbits. Semi-pets with three unique drops

Rabbits are found in many different biomes, but are especially common in deserts. They are afraid of the player if they don't have food in their hands. If you hold a carrot or a golden carrot in your hand, the rabbits will immediately run towards you. They can be bred, producing cute cubs. Taming, as such, is not possible, but the rabbits will follow the player with food and generally behave in a friendlier manner.
These animals can be useful for obtaining three unique resources: raw meat, rabbit pelts, and rabbit feet, which are needed to brew a hopping potion. These are the only peaceful mobs that appear in the deserts, which means it's easy to collect a whole group of them.
Axolotls. Cute helpers in underwater battles

Axolotls are aquatic creatures that live in lush caves (lush caves). They are especially common in shallow water bodies with clay bottoms.
There are five different types of axolotls in the game:
- yellow,
- pink,
- brown,
- white and the rare blue.
Taming an axolotl is accomplished through capturing them in a bucket of water. This not only allows you to carry them around, but also ensures that they don't disappear. After this, axolotls make great allies in underwater battles, especially against guardians and ancient guardians in oceanic monuments. By releasing axolotls from a bucket near enemies, you activate their aggression and they will start attacking hostile mobs. Sometimes axolotls will even put a regeneration effect on you after battles.
Tropical fish buckets are used to breed axolotls. This is the only type of food they take.
Parrots. Signaling and dancing

Parrots are found in jungles and are easily tamed using any seeds. Once successfully tamed, they can land on the player's shoulder and will follow the player. The main feature of parrots is that they mimic the sounds of nearby hostile mobs, which allows you to hear the approaching threat in advance. In addition, if you turn on a music CD player nearby, the parrots will start dancing.
Parrots do not breed, are not treated with seeds and should never eat cookies because it kills them instantly. Take care of these colorful and useful feathered friends.
Ocelots. Relics of old mechanics

Ocelots used to be the way to get domesticated cats, but with the updates the mechanics have changed. Now they no longer turn into cats when tamed. However, they can still begin to trust the player if fed raw fish.
The trust is expressed by the fact that they don't run away when approached, and they can also breed.
But ocelots do not fulfill the function of a full-fledged pet. They have one important feature - creepers and phantoms are still afraid of these animals, so if you place them correctly, they can be useful for defense.
