How to create a crossbow in Minecraft

Go to the layout and place the materials you need on it. You will need three sticks, two pieces of thread, one iron ingot and one trap hook.

The sticks can be obtained from wood, the thread falls out of spiders, the iron is obtained from mines, and the hook is created from a stick, an iron ingot and a block of wood.

On the workbench, the sticks should be placed diagonally: one in the top left cell, one in the top right cell, and one in the bottom middle cell. Iron ingot is placed at the very top between the sticks, threads - under two sticks on the sides, hook - in the center cell.

After krafting all the components you will get a crossbow.

The peculiarity of the weapon is the preservation of the charge after tensioning. That is, you can charge it in advance to shoot at the right moment.

Where to find a crossbow without crafting

Another reliable way is to trade with the inhabitants. If you improve the fletcher to journeyman level, it will be possible to buy a regular crossbow. At wizard level, he offers enchanted versions. If you do not want to participate in battles, this method will suit you.

How to use the crossbow and what are its advantages

The crossbow is tensioned using the right mouse button. Clamp it and hold it until it is fully charged. After that, the weapon is ready to fire. To shoot, you need to press the right button again.

The crossbow supports the use of themed arrows. To use an arrow with an effect, place it in your left hand. The left hand is also used for fireworks. When fired, the rocket does damage within the blast radius.

In the Java version, damage is only dealt by a direct hit, while in Bedrock a close explosion is sufficient.

Crossbow damage is:

• Java: between 6 and 11 units (3-5.5 hearts)
• Bedrock: consistently 9 units (4.5 hearts).
• Fireworks (max): up to 18 units (9 hearts).

With the “Multi-Arrow” enchantment, you can fire three arrows or three missiles at the same time.

Three methods are suitable for crossbow repair:

    1. sharpening stone - removes enchantments but restores strength

    2. Workbench - combines two crossbows without enchantments

    3. Anvil - retains enchantments.
